windows 7 how to index network share

Is Windows 7 Home Basic can share files and printers network in other PC running on same Windows 7 Home Basic OS.

On setup of Windows 7 Backup to network drive, how to avoid userid and password?

I have Windows 7 x64 Pro on one PC of my 2-computer home network. I backup my files to a 1-GB network drive using obsolescent software. I would like to use Windows backup in the same way, but I get stuck at the first stage of backup: "what are my userid and password?". I do not need to use either as both computers are single-user and log-on automatically. How can I persuade W7 Backup to accept that they are not needed? Alternatively how can I, having administrator status, either: check out whether there is an existing id/password?if necessary, set up a new id/password without prejudicing my current automatic logon?

Wireless Network profiles are not saving in Windows 7..How to save?

There is No data in Control Panel\Network and Internet\Manage Wireless Networks.. I am unablr to add/save/manage new network connections... 0 items in that folder. Can you help me to display my saved network connections? Everytime I connect manually to new wifi or my home wifieven though i select automatic. in my windows 7 Ultimate32 bit.. help me? I even reinstalled my network drivers.. i'm using dell inspiron 6400.

How do I get Windows 7 to index my logical drive?

I have a logical drive ('B') (with all my 'data' files, eg., txt, doc, eml, jpg, etc).  Windows 7 indexing seems to not recognize it.  There are tens of thousands of files on that drive, yet Indexing only finds about 2,000 files (presumably on my system drive in my User/ area, also indexed). Here's some information: * The drive's 'Properties' 'Allow files on this drive to have contents indexed...' is checked * ControlPanel->Indexing, Modify, was used to select the logical drive.  It shows up on the list of 'Index these locations' with a drive icon. * About 2,000 files are found (probably on C drive).  When I create a new file on C dirve, it is found by Search (in StartMenu).  When I create a new file o

i have being using the ad hoc network on windows 7 since i can remeber last year i got this same problem and got a computer guy to come in to fix it but he failed aswell, but then it just started working again?? and recentily about 2 weeks ago, it has happened again and its driving me insane trying to fix it, I have being into the protocol version 4 on properties and tried putting in my own ip address and dns and things but still 169.254 ip address keeps coming up on my ipod touch 4g (my ipod is working fine i can connect to a router no problem with it) does anyone else have this problem and even better is there anyone, anyone out there who has the answer because it's driving me insane haha, thanks, Thomas John. Using Windows 7, how do I run CHKDSK?

I've searched throughout the Control Panel and it's submenus and options but can find no means to initiate a scan for disk errors! I did find chkdsk.exe in the Windows\System32 folder but when I double click it, the only response is a flash of the DOS {black, command prompt} screen! Is that the correct response?! Is there no way to run [schedule] a scan disk [for errors] as there has been in earlier versions of Windows?!
