I tired to run windows update and turn my firewall back on and get error messages instead of running windows update and turning my firewall back on.
Windows Update: error code: 80246008
Windows Firewall can't change some of your settings. Error code 0x80070424
I read online that I need to make sure my BITS serivce is working. BITS serivce in Windows 7 in missing. I ran the microsoft fix it and it was NOT able to fix it.
I think my only option left is to restore my system. I prefer not restoring my computer. Can I download BITS without restoring my system?

location:

On windows 7 I got "system error memory dump files" when I tried to use the disk cleaner. My computer is slowing and doesn't follow mouse arrow well.
Advice so far is to use "disk cleanup" to deleat these files however disk cleanup dialog doesn't offer the choice to deleate "system error memory dump files" so what should I do?

How to view classic folder display/icons in Windows 7?
location:
7forums.com - date:

I recently installed Windows 7, and I wanted to see about changing the folder view--not the folder tree, but the way the actual folders appear, specifically for folders containing photos. I have a lot of photos in different folders, and my old computer displayed each folder as a flat, square folder with 4 little preview images of what is in the folder. The new version of Windows displays the folder vertically with the folder open and the documents/photos inside spilling out, I have the view set to "extra large icons" but it is still difficult to tell what is in each folder, I really want to go back to the old way. I looked in the folder options in the control panel but don't see anything for a classic view. Can someone help me wit

How to open Web Folder in Windows 7?
location:
microsoft.com - date:
August 16, 2010
Original Title: Opening websites with Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer)
Allow me to illustrate why I want to open a website with Windows Explorer and not Internet Explorer.
My office uses a network scanner that stores generated scans to a website address. We could get to the folder by typing in something likehttp://123.456.1.789/file_share in Windows Explorer. But
now that everyone in my office switched to Windows 7, no one can access the files because attempting to open a website address automatically launches Internet Explorer, which is without the files list, and has fancy interface and customization and blocks any
access to the files!
My question is simple. How can I open a website address in Windows Explore
