Hello, I have a Acer Aspire TimelineX AS5820T-6401 laptop running Windows 7 64 bit. Since about Sept. 29, 2012 I have been having issues with my computer. It will sometimes freeze up while closed and in sleep mode; the fan gets really loud and the screen is black and unresponsive. This wouldn't be such a big deal, except I'm also having issues starting Windows; it frequently freezes up at some point in the Loading Windows screen where the four little colored dots swirl together to make the Windows Logo. When it prompts me to run Startup Repair the results say that "a patch is preventing Windows from starting up," but it says that everything else is okay. I also ran a chkdsk and everything seemed to look good there as well. After runnin

Hello guys, I successfully installed Windows 7 on my XP computer. Whenever I start-up Windows 7 and get on the desktop. It freezes after 5 minutes of using it. Everytime. Original Title: Start Up Windows Freezes, only works on the third time starting CPU. I am having problems with my PC booting up properly.  I get to the screen where it says starting windows and it will get stuck with a small red dot above the words.  I will then have to hard shutdown and it won't recognize my keyboard on the next startup so then I have to hard restart again and then I can get it to the log in screen and use the PC normally.  I have done a system restore from a date before I had the issue and that did not work.  If I run the system repair it fails and it says there is 1 root cause and gives me the error of 0x490.  Sometimes it will tell me that a driver I recently installed may be causing the is

Hello helpful people, I'm having a really troublesome problem with my computer. Before you ask, yes I looked in the forums and all the other threads I found either were irrelevant or didn't help with my problem. I have an HP desktop computer with Windows 7 Home Premium x64 bit. Earlier this morning I was on my computer, and it was working fine, without hiccup. A few hours ago, I turned on my computer and it began to hang on startup. Once it hit the welcome screen with the small spinning circle, the small circle stopped spinning after a couple seconds, and would freeze right there. Windows 7 freezes on start up must always use task manager

After downoading some windows critical updates (this is about 6 months ago) my computer would lock up after windows started and I could no do anything until I started task manager. All I have to do is start task manager and close it and then everything is fine. Becuase of this, I just didnt bother trying to find a fix but I wondered if anyone has advice on how to correct this problem. Thx.

Ok so I'm a college student and have a paper on my laptop that's due tommorow. I'm trying every way to reboot but its not working. It works in safe mode but my school wifi requires installing software to use Internet which I can't do in safe mode. I read countless forums and I tried everything. Start up repair has been going on for the past hour. I tried rebooting to last successful boot but doesn't work. It freezes no matter what I do. When I tried showing startup process witch each disk to try and solve the issue it just shows - process kernal and a a bunch of system info. Idk what to do please help. Thanks

ok i got windows 7 home i cant boot to safe mode it freezes at classpnp.sys when loading all the files i started it up and now it freezes at starting windows black screen with the windows 4 color tiles i dont have a startup disk and dont get the option to repair windows with f8 how can i get to repair windows mode to try and repair windows and why is safe mode freezeing

Windows 7 freezes at normal startup and when loading drivers in safe mode. Last driver to load on screen when in safe mode is \windows\system32\drivers\CLASSPNP.SYS. Have tried removing optical drive in case it is lack of power but no joy. Does anyone know of a fix for this. Laptop is a Dell  Inspiron N5110.
