Windows 7 taskbar quick launch Does not stack creates new

Hi all I am fairly new to Windows 7 and its quick launch taskbar. However when I started using it once I clicked on a quick launch icon it stacked it to itself after opening. for instance Firefox or Chrome. Now however when I click one it quick launch icon does not "stack" after opening it creates another icon that then does stack. It now does this for everything on my quick launch. Any ideas. I know it is not a big deal but it drives the old lady crazy and I hate hearing about it LOL Thanks for looking and your help.

Can windows 8 be configured to look like windows 7 - with a start button. And convenience. And familiarity. And consistency.

Windows 8 is really annoying.  Can it be reconfigured to look like windows 7 - with a start button?  And convenience.  And familiarity.  And consistency.   I shouldn't need to have to learn how to use a computer all over again.  It is ridiculous.   Will microsoft provide a solution to this ludicrous oversight?

Can't Enable Quick Launch?

Hi guys, I'm running Windows 7 Build 7000 and I'm desperately trying to get the Quick Launch toolbar working. I've relied on it quite a bit for several years and it's a bit frustrating not to have it available by default in Windows 7. I've already read the Quick Launch restoration tutorial and tried its various suggestions, but to no avail. Changing the settings in GPEdit.msc, modifying the registry manually and via the regkey -- nothing works. The Quick Launch option simply doesn't show up in the Toolbars menu when I right-click the taskbar. Any advice? Thanks a lot!

Windows 7: No Start button or Taskbar when computer starts up

Original title: Black screen and taskbar and start button on startup On startup I got a black screen with no taskbar or start button. Just the pointer and the dial-up box was visible. (I have a dial-up connection and sometimes when I start up the dial-up box shows up on its own right after the desktop appears). I couldn't access the start menu. I'm not sure at what point it went black because I walked away after I turned on the computer. I pressed the power button. When I did I got the light blue screen that said it was shutting down and it shut down normally. When I restarted I had no problem and it hasn't done it since. Windows 7 - Start Menu Power Button Missing 'Shut down', 'Sleep'

HP Pavilion - Quick Launch button stuck on mute

No sound will come out of the external speakers but headphones work fine. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the sound drivers on the support page but that limits me to only using headphones OR internal speakers (even if headphones were plugged in) by setting it through Control Panel. System restore fixed the problem for 1 day and it reoccurred. I've just installed the newes

Windows 8.1 - Unable to DOWNGRADE to windows 7 - unable to launch BIOS

Last year in October I bought a Lenovo G580 laptop installed with Windows 8. I've decided I would like to DOWNGRADE my laptop from Windows 8 to Windows 7. What I have tried to do is Restart the laptop pressing the following keys to get into certain modes to try to find a way to downgrade from a Windows 7 disk. -Restart + F1 -Restart + F2 -Restart + F8 -Restart + F10 -Restart + DEL I've also tried accessing the BIOS menu from the boot options menu, but when my laptop restarts after clicking BIOS menu it boots straight back into the normal windows 8 screen to sign in, after signing in, its normal windows 8. NO BIOS.

Windows 7 Explorer New Folder Button and Print Buttons

The  "create new folder" hotkey Ctrl+Shift+N or "New Folder" button doesn't work in Windows Explorer on my installation of Windows 7.   Also, the "Print Button" that shows up when you select a printable object in Explorer doesn't work either.   How do I fix that?
