upgraded to Windows 8 64 bit from Windows 7 64, Keyboard and mouse no longer responding - can't do anything
location:

Hi,
I recently upgraded to Windows 8 64 bit from Windows 7 64 bit but was having difficulty with apps. There were no settings when I went into the app. Following some advice on here I uninstalled Kaspersky to see if that would help but when my PC rebooted the Keyboard
and Mouse stopped responding. The PC boots and I get to the start-up screen but I can’t do anything.
I have tried Shift F8 on start-up to see if I can boot in safe mode but nothing happens and the PC boots normally but I can’t login.
How can I get back into the system to see what is happening.. is there a way to boot from a USB device with some sort of recovery software?
I thought I would download windows 8 on my laptop and create a DVD to see if I could reco

How do I change the Windows 7 Keyboard Shortcuts
location:
microsoft.com - date:
December 6, 2009
I would like to know how I can change/disable some of the
Windows 7 Keyboard Shortcuts.
I find half of them useful, however I would like to change either the key combinations or disable some of the key combinations.
Before upgrading to Windows 7, I used to use a virtual desktop application (virtuawin) on Windows XP that allows windows to be grouped into different virtual desktops. I assign
Win + 1, Win + 2, etc to switch between the desktops.
Since Windows 7 already have these keys already assigned to Taskbar item 1, Taskbar item 2, I am unable to use them for any other applications or settings.
I've tried searching the internet and this forum high and low and have found nothing (except for disabling the windows key, so please do n

How can we use Touch Keyboard Windows 7 tabtip.exe with Windows 8?
location:
microsoft.com - date:
October 28, 2012
Is there a way that the touch keyboard tabtip.exe (not on-screen keyboard osk.exe) to be programmed in windows 8 to operate like the windows 7 touch keyboard tabtip.exe?
I find the win7 touchscreen keyboard can be reduced in size smaller than the win8 version. Also a small "keyboard" icon automatically appears near a text field when I hover my cursor over a text input field. When I click on that icon the touch keyboard appears
allowing me to type. When I move to another area of the display, the touch screen keyboard disappears. How nice that Win7 version is for my use!
In Win8, the tabtip.exe touch keyboard does not have the ability to be a smaller size like the win7 tabtip.exe.
Does anyone any suggestions for a smaller touch screen ke

Keyboard won't work in Windows 7 boot loader
location:
7forums.com - date:
March 18, 2013
I currently have a dual boot of Windows 8 and Windows 7, (Windows 8 was pre-installed, Windows 7 installed on top). When the boot loader shows It says use the arrows to pick an operating system. Well I've tried that I the keyboard doesn't work at all, the tab button doesn't work, nor F8, nor the arrows. The funny thing is when I use Windows 8 bootloader it works perfectly fine, and it also works fine in the BIOS. Before people ask, I have looked through the whole BIOS for USB and startup options, and nothing is working. The keyboard is a wireless one with a USB receiver.
Why is it working in the Windows 8 bootloader, but not the Windows 7 one?
