How to fix "USB device not recognized"
location:
7forums.com - date:
February 4, 2012
Hi,
A couple of days ago, I started getting a "USB Device Not Recognized" error with my two USB 2.0 ports from devices that previously worked for those ports (e.g. my mouse and flash drive). They're still working on my USB 3.0 port, but not the two USB 2.0 ports. When I click into the properties for the "Unknown Device" that shows up after I plug anything into the USB 2.0 ports, it says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"
I think I started getting the error after I plugged in a new laptop fan that I got. It failed to install the driver for the fan and has been giving this error ever since.
I've tried taking out the battery and leaving the computer overnight, syste

Ive tried to download software to enable the satnav to be recognised by my new computer system but it doesn't work. I got as far as clicking on 'Install' , a message window opened saying "please wait one moment", nothing happened and I waited 1/2 an hour
but the message remained on the screen and nothing else happened. I tried the process several times without any success. Does this mean that I am not going to be able to update my satnav maps?

How do I get to Device Manager on WinXP SP3 to fix a sound problem - No Playback Devices?
location:
microsoft.com - date:

(1) I cannot get to Device Manager by following the Help guide on my system. The steps to follow do not match what my Windows is actually showing me and I cannot get there The only way I can get to it is to use a link on the Help page directly. Even
when I do this, the Help guide steps still do not match what I am seeing on MY screens. Is there possibly an update to the Help Guide to match my system?
(2) I need Device Manager to find out what happened to my Audio Device. I have no sounds from my speakers. This suddenly happened when my wife was using the computer. I have no idea what she may have been doing at the time.
