Wifi Connection shortcut?
location:

Hey, not sure if this is posted in the correct forum or not so moderators feel free to move it if you have too.. Just wondering if it is possible to create a shortcut on your desktop to the system tray "connect to networks" window? For Wifi.. as I like to keep my taskbar hidden yet everytime I wish to change networks I have to make it visible again. I know I could just make shortcuts to different networks, but that would clutter my desktop as I often connect to many different networks and I don't wish to do this.
So is this possible? Simply a shortcut that open the "Connect to network" small box that opens normally when you click the wifi tab in the system tray?
Thanks,
Matthew.

Sony Vaio Laptop "stopped" connecting to WiFi connection " Limited acc
location:

Hi,
I am hoping you can help me with my problem.
My main laptop (Sony Vaio VPCCB15FG) in the last week just stopped accessing the internet via WiFi.
It says it has Limited Acess but I have no idea how to fix it.
The other 3 computers in the house (Custom desktop, Toshiba Net book, Samsung Laptop) can all access the internet as normal.
It is only the Sony that is being problomatic.
It is also running rather slow for the spec so that may be related.
Please help! I am not super computer savy so please give simple instructions.
Cheers
GTNeil

No wifi connection found
location:

Hi,
I digitally downloaded Windows 8, and the setup worked fine. However, when I could finally access Windows 8, I could no longer access the internet via wifi. The internet does connect via an ethernet cable, but there is no recognition at all of wifi.
I have the following computer:
Acer Aspire 3-571G
Intel Core i5-3210M 2.5GHz
8GB DDR3 Memory
500 GB HDD
nVidia GEFORCE GT 630M 1GB
Any help would be gratefully received as I'm really not sure why I no longer have wifi access.
Thanks.

Windows 8 Wifi Connection Turns off
location:

Hello, I am running Windows 8 Home Edition. On a HP DV6-7250CA.I have a Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 Card.I also have several other laptops and desktop all connected to the same router. For some reason, randomly my Windows 8 HP laptop turns of my wifi internet access just on this laptop, then when i try to reconnect, it says unable to connect. The only way I can get back on line, is if I go to device manager, and disable and then reenable my wireless card.I have tried reinstalling the driver, and it still happens. None of my other machines are effected and run great on wifi. Any thoughts as to why just this windows 8 laptop is randomly doing this? Thanks for your time and effort!

Wifi connection broken after Windows 8 update
location:

Until the end of Februari my computer with Windows 8 worked very well with the WiFi adapter AR928 Qualcomm Atheros (latest software release). However after the Windows update on March 1 the Wifi connection is broken and cannot be restored. The rest of
the network (wifi) is working well, except the Windows 8 computer. The adapter itself says it is working well. So I conclude Windows 8 did a bad software upgrade. How to correct this?

First daily WiFi connection gives limited access, reconnection needed
location:
7forums.com - date:

Hi everyone,
I have recently switched my work laptop from Win XP to Win 7 and have started encountering a weird WiFi issue.
When I turn the laptop on in the morning it auto connects to my home WiFi without any problem, but indicates that there is limited access and I can't use anything requiring internet.
So my first reaction was to disconnect/reconnect and guess what? It worked.
Now every single day I have to do the same manual disconnect/reconnect, which is getting old fast
I tried troubleshooting this issue and here are some conclusion I reached based on my testing:
- No such issue encountered with any Win XP machine
- No such issue encountered with any Ubuntu machine (12.04)
- Exact same issue encountered on my girlfriend's laptop
