Why is ntoskrnl.exe crashing with BSOD?
location:
microsoft.com - date:
May 28, 2013
I have an HP Pavilion g7 series laptop with Win 7, SP1, MS Security Essentials, and all the newest hardware drivers for the product. I tried all the forum workarounds but I still get the BSOD at unpredictable intervals.
I haven't yet done a step by step check to see if the MS Service Pack to Win 7 is the problem. It is time consuming for me right now. Does anyone have this glitch like I do? Could it be that the motherboard is the problem?

I have been getting a BSOD with ntoskrnl.exe in WIndows 8
location:
microsoft.com - date:

Hi there,
In the past 2 months I have been getting a BSOD. My minidump and systeminfo are located in the Skydrive link below:
https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=2A8240028C52E1E8!114
I have been searching for a solution since yesterday and most of the time I am getting solutions for older versions of WIndows. I usually get lost around the recovery console because it is different compared to the Windows 8 one.
I have done memtest already and there were no errors found.
This is the first time I experienced a BSOD. I have been using Windows and all the associated programs since 3.1.
Please help,
Thanks

This has been annoying me for awhile. I thought it was because my computer was overheating, my chipset would get to 85 Celsius so i installed another fan. That is obviously not the issue because it is still blue screening.

I could view and work with all My 3D video files before updating to IE10 so I did a restore and every thing is fine again.
The problem while IE10 was installed host.dll/com surrogate/thumbnail cache would consume memory untill it saturated my entire system and crashing.

Windows 7 - BSOD: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL with ntoskrnl.exe
location:

Hi,
I have had this BSOD a couple time over the last 9 months or so. The first few times it happened maybe every couple months. But it has now happened twice in the last two days.
I used a program called BSOD viewer to search the issue. At first I found something related to Logitech's setpoint software so I updated that and the BSOD didn't happen for a while. But now I am getting them again, and at least the most recent two times I was watching a video on youtube.
I am running Win 7 Pro (my key is from MSDNAA). System specs are as listed in my profile. The system is about 1 year old ditto for OS install.
Edit: I forgot to mention I ran memtest 4.2 for a total of 13 passes (4 + 9) and no errors were found.
Edit 2: In the mean time I hav

ntoskrnl.exe / hal.dll crashing Windows 8 Pro
location:
microsoft.com - date:
May 10, 2013
For just over a month (current install) I have been experiencing random crashes with Windows 8 that I am not sure what is causing the issue, most of the time the system becomes unresponsive after a short period of unused, this usually happens when watching
recorded TV on Media Centre or when all apps are closed and only the desktop is available.
When looking at my dump files (located below) show hal.dll+f796 and ntoskrnl.exe+203c4c are related to the cause of my system problems but when checking Event Viewer i see a lot of entries that make no sense, such as
A fatal hardware error has occurred.
Reported by component: Processor Core
Error Source: Machine Check Exception
Error Type: Bus/Interconnect E

Why does Windows 8 System Builder come with no support? If someone wants to install Windows 8 on a computer that had non Windows OS why are they punished with no support ?
location:

Since there is no full version of Windows 8 only the upgrade or System Builder version; why is Microsoft punishing people that want to install it on a computer that had another OS with no support when they use to have a full version with support ?
