Why are most web pages loading so slowly?

Hi,
I have had this issue for about 6 weeks now. Not all, but most webpages are taking way too long to load. I am talking about between 40 and 90 seconds. Usually, once the home page has loaded, other pages on the site will load normally (1 to 10 seconds).
I used to come down in the morning and read Google news like I used to read the paper but it is too frustrating at the moment.
I have an ADSL connection over which I am consistently getting about 13.5Mbps so the connection it's self is not too bad. I have measured this on Speedtest.net which I have found to be fairly reliable.
The same thing happens whether I am running Win XP SP3 on my desktop or Win 7 on my laptop. The same thing happens whether I use Firefox, IE or Chrome. No differe

windows xp performance issue loading some web pages very slowly, don't believe this is an IE8 issue, see why I say that below.

There are many web sites that take extreemely long to finish loading, or even start loading. Many others, microsoft.com and google.com, load just fine. Here are a few of the sites I have trouble with.
Do not beleve this is a IE8 issue because I have the same problem using a fresh install of Google Chrome, and a 2nd pc also xp with IE8 loads these web sites just fine.

"Opening ifr" popup message and only partial loading of web pages
location:

I am having two Firefox problems that seem to be related, as they started at the same time. I am using a Comcast high speed cable connection and WinXP Pro SP3. About once a day when I open a complex web page with many sections, I get a cryptic message shown in the attachment. I have found references to the ifr file message, but no clear explanation of it. The only options are to open or save the file. At the same time, my Firefox 6.0.2 browser will only partially load some complex pages. I have a red "X" to the right of the URL address window showing that loading is incomplete. Eventually it times out and shows the circular "Reload current page" arrow, even though the loading is incomplete. If I stop the page loading by

PC connects to wireless network, but web pages just won't load...

Hello,
I have a desktop PC with Windows 7 and an asus PCI-G31 wireless network adapter. The PC can connect to my wireless network but web pages will not load.
In the very same room, I have a laptop with Windows Vista and Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN adapter; and it connects to my wireless network fine.
I have updated the driver on the asus adapter and I have restarted the router many times, but this did not help. My router is a 2wire gateway 2701HGV-W
If someone could help me with this it would be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance,

I have just purchased the Surface tablet with windows 8rt OS. I am having problems that whenever I try to open a page on IE8 that requires Adobe Flash Player, the page does not load and a message comes up to download Adobe Flash. However when I go to the
Flash download site it says that this version of Flash Player is incompatible with windows 8rt. I have tried nearly everything but still cannot get it to work.
So what's the problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also when trying to view Eurosport Player, again I get an incompatibly message telling me that Silverlight is required and will not play. Again the same problem when trying to download, incompatibility!!!!
So come on Microsoft what's wrong???
