It is that "computer" that I am trying to access via the remote desktop connection from my laptop. Thanks in advance,

New brother MFC-495 wireless printer won't print from laptop Windows XP
location:
microsoft.com - date:

Similar to other questions but different enough:
1st installed the printer to the desktop that does not have wireless using USB port. Prints.
2nd installed software to my wireless laptop. I can see the printer in the printers folder, it says ready, but won't print. Printer has been set up with SSID, etc, and even has an indicator that it is getting wireless signal. I know the laptop is wireless
or I would not be writing this from it right now.
How to I get my laptop and printer to really talk to each other???? BTW, my wireless router is working fine since my Android phone works on it. Power does not need to be on the desktop for this.
I don't really want to network the computers since I

I have read several threads on here but can't quite find the answer.
1. I have a desktop running XP which has the HP LaserJet 1020 hooked up.
2. I have a notebook with Windows 7 Pro and the HP is installed as a Network Printer.
3. I have Windows XP Mode.
The reason why I need to a network printer on XP Mode is because I have old programs which I need to print from.
How do I get XP Mode to print to the desktop?
Any help will be very appreciated...

I purchased a Compaq Presario X1000 laptop from Goodwill Industries. It has Windows XP Pro installed and is secured by an unknown Administrator Password. When I try to access System BIOS at startup, it asks for the administrator password and denies access. How
can I remove this password and get to the BIOS settings? Everything I have tried so far has failed. Please advise.

Help with upgrading from Windows XP 32-bit to Windows 8 64-bit
location:
microsoft.com - date:
October 28, 2012
Okay. Currently, I have Windows 7 64-bit installed on my laptop. I have licenses for Windows XP 32-bit and Windows 7 64-bit. I want to dual-boot Windows 7 and Windows 8 (64-bit), so I'm going to install my 32-bit Windows XP license on my laptop (dual booting
with 7), then upgrade XP to 8. However, the website SEEMS to indicate that I have to purchase a disc for an upgrade like this, where I'm going from 32-bit XP to 64-bit Windows 8.
I want to know two things:
1. Is that correct?
2. Why? Can't I just download the software, create a bootable USB drive, and boot from that to install Windows 8?
I'd really like to just get the download, not a disc, because I don't wanna have to pay an extra 30 bucks!
