Hardware in Win 7
I am considering upgrading my pc from XP Pro, Pentium 4 dual core at 3 GHz, 2GB DDR RAM to WIndows 7 64Bit.
If I do this, I will be replacing the mobo by Asus M58A78L, processor by AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition and 8GB DDR3 RAM and buying Win7 Pro for the XP mode.
How does XP mode on Win7 compare with an actual XP pc ? Will it pick up and use my hardware, eg. graphics card (GeForce 7950GT), Epson PX720WD.
I assume that I would have to install separate drivers in 7 and XP mode.
I capture video from a VCR through a Conextant cx2388x internal video capture card using Ulead VideoStudio 9. I have not yet found a Win 7 driver for this card, but am prepared to change the card if necessary. Given that I can find the driv

Currently I have a Windows XP Professional 2 running on a PC (it's a copy, sorry and I want to upgrade (read "buy") now to the latest Windows 7 environment. I've seen on the webpage a WIndows 7 Family Pack for 149.99. Than I only need Outlook no other
office products needed. My question is can I upgrade my old XP environment? And can I only run Outlook on it, I do not need the other Office products, right? Thanks!!

How to turn on automatic logon in Windows 7
location:
microsoft.com - date:
April 6, 2010
The registry entries we used to utilize AutoLogon, no longer seem to work as they under Windows XP.
Specifically, when choosing a Windows only Logon after installing Novell Client 2 for Win7, the local Windows account name does not pop up in the username field. Then, when you enter the proper Workstation username, you must also enter the password. Previously,
the password was suppli3ed in the registry and was not required at Workstation logon.
Oddly, if you log to the Novell network, the local user credentials *will* be properly used and the workstation account will be logged quietly and in the background without user intervention
Any help appreciated

TOTALLY FREE video maker for Windows 7 (apart from Movie Maker)
location:

Hi guys,
I need an honest to goodness FREE video maker for Windows 7 with features that are way better than Movie Maker (MM).
I've had the following problems with the many applications I've downloaded:
1. hijacked my browsers
2. output vid - has watermarks OR only 30 seconds is free OR pay to download file
3. features are way simpler than MM
4. free for only a specified amount of time
Can't wait to hear your suggestions. I'm tired of getting all these fakers. Thank you.

I want to upgrade from Windows XP 64bit to Windows 8.

Why will Microsoft not support their own customers in doing this? The suggestion I've seen so far has been to use the DVD version. So because I have bought a version of the operating system that is a little under-represented Microsoft feels that I should
pay a premium for the pleasure of upgrading? I want really to be using Windows 7 because I am not sure of the reliability of the Windows 8 system but I'm a poor student without the money to afford it. Which is why I was so excited about Windows 8 being such
a good deal in the first place.
I'm sure the Microsoft engineers are happy enough to be able to afford the DVD price rather than the download price for the same piece of software. But I can't and I'm really quite upset that Micros
