What are the Options for Windows XP automatic logon apart from the obvious http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315231?

I don't think this is possible but is there another way to enable automatic logon with the risk of compromising your security. Only two options I'm aware of is
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315231 or scripting it which basically achieves the same thing.

windows xp automatic camera detection
location:

Hey,
I have Windows XP Professional, and an Olympus Stylus Tough-3000 digital camera. It works on my Windows 7 computer, but when I plug it in my XP computer, all I hear is the sound, and then a box comes up that says "choose which program to use with your device."
There are none listed, so I downloaded Picasa 3, but it won't work. And when I go to Scanners and Cameras then plug in my camera, the icon for my camera shows up briefly, then disappears. PLEASE HELP!

location:

Folks....There are a lot of questions like mine out on the web and I have read and tried to apply the fixes to no avail.
OK, here is my situation. I have a new HP Envy 15 laptop with WIndows 7 Pro 64bit and an older office PC with Windows XP Pro 32 bit. They are networked via a Linksys router (the laptop wireless and the office PC wired directly to the router) using the
192.168.51.* TCPIP addressing scheme.
From the Windows XP box I can access all of the shares on the Windows 7 laptop, no problems.
From the Windows 7 box I can see the Windows XP box and its shares in the File Explorer "Computer" network section. However when I click on one to access the share or try to map it to a drive letter, I get this message:

Windows XP Mode icon missing from submenu
location:
microsoft.com - date:
March 4, 2013
Amid trouble with my first installation of Windows Virtual PC with Windows XP Mode (on Windows 7 Pro), I decided to remove the program and install fresh copies of Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP Mode. But before that, I tried to remove as many traces
of the old program that were visible, so that those traces would not interfere with the new installation.
I removed the folder 'Windows Virtual PC' and the icons "Windows Virtual PC' and 'Windows XP Mode' from the Start Menu in
All Programs. In the Start Menu list of 10 recently run programs, I removed the icon 'Windows Virtual PC' and the icon 'Windows XP Mode' from its sub-menu (I do not remember the category to which the 'Windows XP Mode' icon applied). I could not

What should I backup from documents and settings in Windows XP?
location:

What should I backup from documents and settings in Windows XP if I only want to backup the Windows XP settings changes that I made to it?
I do not need to backup the settings changes that I made to my programs. Just changes to the OS settings.
Sevenforums only links to vistax64.com and doesn't have a xpforums.com... so I'm posting it here.
