Saved settings using windows-7
location:

Hi Guy's,
Hope some one can help me with this small problem.
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate and when i'm using one of my favourite scanning / printing programs namely arcsoft Photo Impressions 2000, when I have done a scan and go to save the image / file the "saved path" always defaults to "My Pictures" folder and not to the last saved destination.
Now when I was running Windows Vista the saved destination folder always remained the last one that was used (ie-Documents\manuals) not "My Pictures".
I find this annoying as I have to use half a dozen mouse clicks to save the file where I want it save to everytime!! I have looked at the registary entries for the program but can't see any setting for defaults.

Add Local Windows 7 Printer to a Mac Using Windows 7 Home Premium
location:
microsoft.com - date:
January 1, 2010
Before I upgraded to Windows 7 I was able to go to the Mac System Preferences / Print and Fax and go to the Add Printer dialog and select the Windows tab. Under that tab in the three pane window it would show Workgroup/Home-PC/Printer where Home-PC is
my machine and Printer was the name I chose for the Canon MP780 that I shared via windows 7.
Once I upgraded to Windows 7 ... I tried doing the same thing and nothing shows up on the Windows tab in Add Printer dialog.
I now have no idea how to add a local printer on my windows 7 box that I am sharing!?

Try not to do a bios upgrade when using Windows 7
location:
7forums.com - date:
April 17, 2009
Hello all,
Just thought I would mention this as it is the second machine I have bolloxed now due to doing a bios upgrade.
A while ago I did a bios upgrade on a desktop machine and after doing it got a BSOD and windows would not boot. Had to format and do a fresh install to get over it.
This time round I did a bios upgrade on my laptop so that I could put a T9500 processor into it and got the same problem.
Bit of a pig this one though as I have 3 weeks of non backed up emails I will lose amongst other things.
It seems that if you do a bios upgrade windows 7 see's it as a different machine and just errors out without trying to load. There seems to be nothing you can do to recover from it.
Only option I have it to install another oppperatin

Install XP Updates if using Windows 7?
location:
microsoft.com - date:
March 5, 2013
I'm using Windows 7. However, I installed Microsoft Photo Editor from the XP disk so an existing Access database OLE will work correctly. Now I'm getting XP Service Pack updates listed as important in Windows Update. Should I install these XP updates
even though I only have Microsoft Photo Editor? If not, how do I make these XP update recommendations go away?

CANNOT ACCESS MACBOOK FROM MY PC USING WINDOWS 7 - ASKS FOR PASSWORD BUT WONT ACCEPT ANY I KNOW
location:
microsoft.com - date:
December 23, 2012
I have added a new MacBook to my network. The MacBook can find and access my PCs on the net.
Both PCs use Windows 7.
The PCs can see the MacBook in the list of networked computers.
When I try to access it from the PC I always get a message saying Enter Network Password.
Enter your password to connect to MacbookAir-8D47.
It correctly identifies my computer as TED-HP and then adds TED-HP or TOURISK
to the entry producing either TED-HP/TED/HP OR TED-HP/TOURISK.
My user name is Ted. My network account is
*** Email address is removed for privacy ***
No password seems to work. . I have tried to make it work by removing the need to have a password and this doesn’t work eit

error code 800 for the vpn connection using Windows 7
location:
microsoft.com - date:
February 3, 2010
What adjustments are needed to allow my VPN connection to work. I get error code 800. Windows 7. I am using Microsoft essentials. I uninstalled Norton 2010 using the windows uninstaller. It gives the message using WAN Miniport, and fails at PPTP, SSTP and
LT2TP.
Error 800: The remote connection was not made because the attempted VPN server might be unreachable (also got the message VPN tunnels failed). If this connection is attempting to use LT2TP/IPsec tunnel, teh security parameters for IPSec negotiation might not
be configured properly.
New computer set up in the last few days. Was able to connect briefly using vpn after uninstalling Norton 2010, but after a restart of the machine, goes back to giving error message above.
