Cannot format USB flash drive after using Windows 7 USB download tool
location:

Dear all
Because of an issue with my laptop, I decided to reinstall Windows 7 home premium 64-bit. To that end, I borrowed a Kingston datatraveler 4GB usb flash drive from a friend to try and make a bootable flash drive.
After downloading the prerequisite ISO image and installing the windows 7 usb/dvd download tool, I proceeded to run the program. However, at around 6% the copying fails. As a result of this there is around 256 mb of files left on my usb. I then tried to use the diskpart utility in the CMD to clean the drive. However for some reason the usb drive is now write protected, and every subsequent attempt to format it to its original state has failed. I also cannot move files into the usb. Attached below is a screenshot of

Format an external hard drive using windows 7?? Im having issues.
location:

How can i Wipe/Reformat an external hard drive using windows 7 that was previously formatted by Windows 8. i know the size of the drive, 1TB, but Windows 7 will only let me see a small partition 1/4 of it ?? I got this drive 2nd hand and it runs fine.
But it came out of a Windows 8 comp and now as my external drive i can only see 1/4 of it. When i tried to format it i could only format 1/4 of it. I then tried to change some settings in <Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Devices and Printer/The Device
In Question/> but there was nothing i could do there. I could however see the other 3/4TB but i could do nothing to it. Not properties, nothing.
Frustrated:

Windows 7 Starter ISO?
location:
7forums.com - date:

I have an Asus EEEpc 1005-HAB. It came with Windows 7 Starter preinstalled. I completely formated the HDD and installed Ubuntu Netbook Remix 10.04 LTS. I want to reinstall Windows, but linux won't mount my shared DVD drive on my Windows 7 desktop. I still have my OEM disk and my product key, but I dont have an external DVD drive, or money to buy one.
I was wondering if there was a way for me to download an OEM ISO, or to get a disk image off my disk.
Also Im new to Seven Forums so I dont know if I posted this in the right place.

I am getting error 0x0000000d when trying add a printer through my wireless network with my new laptop using Windows 7.
Here is my network setup. The new laptop I am printing from is running Windows 7. My wireless router is a linksys W54G. The old laptop the printer is connected to is running Windows XP SP3. The printer is a Kodak ESP-3 AiO which is connected via USB port to
the old laptop running XP SP3. My desktop is running XP SP2.
I can print from the desktop (XP SP2) through the wireless router and the old laptop (XP SP3) to the Kodak ESP-3 printer with no problem. My new laptop (Win 7) can see all the XP PCs and can access all the shared files. I have no problem sharing files between

i have two pc. one is a windows 7 (64bit) and the other is a windows xp.
they both are connected in a workgroup. on both computers there are shared folders.
the problem is, that suddenly the windows xp computer is no longer able to access the shared folders on the windows 7 computer.
even opening the workgroup via the network control window will not be able, there is a message that the comuter is not allowed to access the workgroup.
at the same time the windows 7 computer can still access the workgroup and also see the shared folders on the windows xp computer.
in such a situation the only solution i have found so fare is to shutdown both computers, then first boot the windows xp computer and then the windows 7 computer.

Unable to map a network drive using Windows 7?!
location:
microsoft.com - date:
January 24, 2013
Hello:
I'm having a problem connecting Window 7 to a NAS. It used to work... with other OSes (XP and W2K). But it will NOT with Windows 7.
At any rate, when I either try to map a network drive from Explorer, or just enter the UNC in the Address Bar in Explorer, I get a very generic “Windows cannot access” error with a code of “0x80004005 unspecified error”.
So after searching on that error across the web, here are some steps I have taken:
- Turned the firewall off
- Ensured MS Client for Networks is installed on my NIC
- Verified File and Printer Sharing is enabled
- Made sure the Server, TCPI/IP NetBIOS Helper, and Workstation services were running

I solved this by copying the myob folder from xp machine to win 7 machine. Click the myob.exe to run. Strange but it works without an install
