Excel 2007 - Unable to Read File Error Message
location:

I have a weird one with a user this morning. A large Excel file (xls format) that opens succesfully on other PC's including my own has issues on one PC. The user gets an error dialog box that says "Unable to Read File". When OK is clicked the file does open, but the results in some columns that contain formulas are not correct. There are many formulas, vlookups, etc., but no macros in the file.
The same file, it's save on a network, can be opened successfully on other PC's including my own. I'm at a loss as to what to do. Wouldn't the file be unreadable on all PC's if corrupt? Also, wouldn't the user see the same results in other spreadsheets if Excel were corrupt or damaged on his PC? He can open all other Excel files wi

When I reboot into recovery I am unable to get windows to boot using any of the recovery tools. I'm trying to rescue the files in the User directory, some of which give me an access denied error when I try to copy them from a command prompt.

PC Needs to be repaired, File: \Windows\system32\winload.exe, Error Code: 0xc000000e

I tried installing Windows 8 on my PC which was dual booting WIndows 7 from 2 different hard disks, and would choose between the 2 at startup. So I deleted the partition of one Windows installation and installed Windows 8. All seemed to work fine, I could
boot and choose between Windows 8 or 7 and both worked fine. Then I had upgraded a graphics driver in Win 8 and that caused problems with Win 8 starting with a black screen and nothing else. There were no restore points so I decide to start again by deleting
the partition. I re installed Windows 8 but now when I boot up I get an error screen.

I have Dell Inspiron 14z Ultrabook and recently received this error message after having no previous problems with the laptop. Dell tech support ran me through hard drive tests and no problems were found. I was told the only way to fix this issue is to
reinstall the Operating System, which will cause me to lose all my files and applications I have installed.
Is there any other way to fix this problem so that I will not lose everything? And how do I prevent this issue from happening again?
Very disappointed!
