Windows Media Player doesn't play .avi or .mpeg video files?
location:
microsoft.com - date:
February 17, 2011
I downloaded some video files in the .avi video format, then try playing them with Windows Media Player. It plays the sound of the video file, but no video. I try converting the file to .mpeg format, and this time Windows Media Player says it couldn't
acquire a codec this file with, regardless of it saying it has acquired a codec at the bottom of the screen. So I download the xvid codec from the internet and install it, but even then, the files still don't play. How do I fix this?
