What does it mean in windows 8 file history backup error hourly event viewer unable to finish backup cycle for configuration?
location:
microsoft.com - date:

I get this message hourly in the event log.
What is its meaning?
"Unable to finish a backup cycle for configuration C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\FileHistory\Configuration\Config"
In investigating the many many errors in the event viewer I also encountered all these "hidden gotchas" like:
File was not backed up due to its full path exceeding MAX_PATH limit or containing unsupported characters:
<<files listed...>>
If you want it to be protected, try using different directory and file names.
These issues are not surfaced anywhere to the user, imagine my surprise if I were to be using File History feeling good about having "protection" for my files, and encounter an issu

Error 0x80070002 when attempting to backup files
location:

Hi guys,
I've been trying to backup my system data partition for a while now and am always getting the same error as result:
"The system cannot fin the file specified" Error code: 0x80070002.
I looked up online and it seems like this Error code 0x8100002F and or error code 0x80070002 when you back up files in Windows 7
would be the fix. But when following the steps to solve "scenario 3" (which I believe to be my case), I can't install the update "KB976972", which is claimed to solve the issue. I had previously asked for help here: Update is not applicable to your computer
and NoelDP suggested I created a new thread explaining the problem. I have a Windows7-SP1 (x64) machine with 8GB of RAM. And yes, I a

Windows 8 backup error code 0x81000033
location:

I am attempting to create a system image from Windows 8 on a external USB drive. I have a Seagate expansion drive with 1.81 Tb capacity that I am attempting to put the backup on. In Control Panel/Windows 7 file recovery I am selecting 'back up now' The backup
appears to proceed normally... but eventually fails with error code 0x81000033
There is plenty of free space on the Seagate external drive - so space should not be an issue.
How do I correct this issue?

Backup error 0x80780119
location:

Just received my brand new Dell XPS 8500 Desktop with Windows 8. Wanted to do the very simple task and Backup my system using the built in Backup software of windows 8, and figured out to do this I need a PHD in computer science.
1. First Backup in Windows “8” is called “Windows “7” Backup and Restore”. If you search for Backup you just find the file history which isn’t a backup –> so this is very confusing.
2. I have a 2TB hard disk. Just 160 GB used. My system-recovery partition (which is used by windows to repair the system) is 500MB and almost free.
Have 12GB Ram and 5GB Virtual Ram. Wanted to create a Backup on a 2TB USB 3.0 external drive.
3. If I ran the backup it crashes with this error: 0x8

location:

Hi everyone,
Today I tried to make my first backup of the computer.
I tried it 4 times in a row but always got the same error, something about Shadow files that can't be read.
Error Code = 0x81000037
I didn't really try a lot of things to fix it, because I wouldn't know how to start.
Any help of someone who knows what to do is certenly welcome.
Thank you in advance, Michaël

Error 0x80070002 when downloading purchased videos
location:
microsoft.com - date:
February 16, 2013
When trying to download purchased videos I get error code: 0x80070002.
I have no problems streaming videos. This occurs on every video I try to download. I have been successful in downloading purchased videos in the past.
I am using the latest WHQL-certified NVidia drivers. I have already tried syncing my app licenses. I have not yet tried downloading the videos to another Windows 8 computer yet. This is not a Windows RT device.
I have installed some video games and windows updates since the last time it worked. (The Sims 3, SimCity 4, Steam, and Farm Simulator 2013). I have installed Office 2013 since the last time it worked. This is the only application installed.
Any ideas?

Unable to boot, error 0xc000000f, hard drive failure?
location:
7forums.com - date:
March 29, 2013
Hello everyone. I am going to number my info because my desktop progressively got worse today.
I have a Windows 7 partition and a Windows 8 partition on the HD.
1. At first boot, it was trying to auto repair, but it would get stuck and nothing would happen.
2. After several restarts, it finally booted to the Windows 8 boot select screen to choose 7 or 8, I chose 7. Then it went to "applying update operation" and was updating registries I guess.
3. After that, it just would not boot. After another restart, I got "the boot configuration data for your pc is missing or contains errors." I tried to insert a recovery DVD / installation disk, but nothing would load.
3. Trying to boot from the CD or USB would just freeze an

Excluding a removed drive from backup error report?
location:

Since I removed a failed data disk (Drive G:/) from my Win7 64 bit system, Backup finishes but gives an incomplete backup error of not finding Drive G. When I search Change Backup Settings, I can find no reference to the missing drive, although the desired C: and D: drives are listed. How can I prevent this error reporting, ie, remove this drive from the backup list of sources?

location:

February 1, 2013
Hi, I was trying to install on Windows 8 the swiss-italian, english-uk and english-us language packs additionally to already installed packages german, swiss-german, swiss-french, spain-spanish and galego. The language packs were successfully downloaded
and the installation process started. Nearly at end of the installation, the process is always aborted with the following message (example of the swiss-italian language pack):
Installationsfehler: Die Installation des folgenden Updates ist mit Fehler 0x80070002 fehlgeschlagen: Sprachpaket für Italienisch - Windows 8 - (KB2607607) [it-IT_LP]
Any hint what the problem could be?
Tx & best regards,
José-María
