Win7 won't boot: 'A Disk Read Error
location:

December 9, 2011
Good day to all.
I spent an unpleasant 5 hours or so last night fixing an 'Oops'. Its a long story, but I'll be as quick as I can.
My Win 7 Pro box has been stable for more than a year now. I purchased it as a complete machine (Intel quad core, 8GB RAM, single 1TB drive, DVD burner) just before Win7 was released - it came with Vista Home Premium. Even though the machine came with a voucher for Win 7 Home Premium, I had ordered several Win 7 licenses when Microsoft put them on sale back in July 2009 (months before the Win7 release date). And - I wanted to run Win 7 Pro on this machine anyway. Good thing I didn't wait for the Win 7 voucher to be fulfilled - that took about 14 weeks.
Upon receiving my shiny new Win7 licenses in the

Windows 7 7100 - Not Enough Disk Space Error
location:
7forums.com - date:
April 25, 2009
I am having problems in Windows 7 7100 x64 with it not wanting to install as an upgrade on my Windows Vista SP2 x64 installation. I have uninstalled the things that I know would be problems: Daemon Tools being the only one on my machine, and it keeps on spitting a message saying "Not Enough Disk Space" at me.
This is really getting annoying, because I have seen reports that Windows XP x64 and Windows Vista x64 had the same problems when updating from one to the other, and I cannot find a fix for this problem.
Does anyone have a fix for this or some suggestions? I am trying to install this on a Gateway P-7811FX computer with Windows Vista SP2 Home Premium on it.
Adding Specs: Manufacturer: Gateway Part Number:P-7811FX General W

Start up repair does not work nor does windows 7 disk. No error messa
location:

I have spent all day trying to get my computer to boot up. It is a Dell Latitude 6410 with factory installed Windows 7 Pro 32 bit.
I was able to fix this problem once a few days ago. I was working on my forum and decided to reboot after a windows update. It came up giving me the choice of doing a start up repair or normal start. The normal start would not work so I tried a start up repair. This took care of the problem.
This morning the same thing happened. Start up repair runs for a very long time but when I click finished it still comes back to a choice of start up repair or normal start.
The computer will not come up in safe mode. I tried using F12 to try and use the original windows 7 disk, no luck. The disk spins for a littl

I have a toshiba laptop running windows 8. I went to delete photos off a usb when my laptop froze. I turned off the laptop by the power button waited, then when I turned the laptop back on it came up with the message
a disk read error occurred press ctrl alt del to restart
Each time I press ctrl alt del it returns to this message. I can only go to F2 or F12. I know a little about computers but not enough to fix something like this. All replies would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time

I have this same issue and I have
Disk 0: Partition 1 100.0mb system
Disk 0: Partition 2 698.5gb primary
And it's giving me the same error and I'm contemplating deleting both partitions but my question is will the system automatically create a new combined partition or somethin?because I have absolutely no os installed so it's not like I can go in windows and create a partition like that. And how would I delete the old partitions?

I'm able to run Windows 8 on my computer, but it needs to have an installation disk inside the disk drive. Otherwise, it will give me the "disk read error" message.
location:
microsoft.com - date:
May 16, 2013
My Windows 8 PC once froze on me, so I decided to restart the computer. Once I did, the PC gave me an error message saying "disk read error". I checked the IDE cable and the power cable and there seems to be no problem. I tried to repair it using the disk
and I was able to finish the repair. But as soon as I removed the disk and restarted the PC, it gave me the same error message. I tried to reinstall Windows 8 and the same issue persist when I removed and restarted the PC after completing the reinstallation.
I even tried reformatting the whole thing, but it still does the same thing.
Right now I'm able to use my computer, but only because I have my installer inside my Drive D. How do I get about this? Thanks!
