location:

I am trying to figure out if its possible to print from applications instaled in Win 7 Using an XP compatible pdf printer software (Print2Pdf) installed in XP mode. The problemis because its installed on the XP virtual machine the printer does not appear in the Win 7 printers list. I do not wish to install the programmes I wish to print from in XP mode as well just to use this pdf printer. Is there a work around for this problem?
Your thoughts would be appreciated.
Kind Regards
Chris

I was able to get Virtual PC and XP Mode installed on a Win7 Professional machine, but have failed to get the user's printer, an HP Photosmart, to install. I downloaded the XP install package for the printer from the HP website, but the install fails at the point it asks for the USB cable from the printer to be plugged into the PC. Any suggestions?

In my home network I have a Minolta QMS Magicolor 2200 printer. A 64-bit printer driver for this printer is not available. I have a Dell computer with Win 7 Pro, and I have installed Windows XP Mode. Installing the XP printer driver in Win 7 will damage
the computer. Is it possible to install the XP driver in XP Mode without damaging the computer? If this is possible, is it possible to use this printer driver from Win 7?

I have two printers - HP Laser & HP Photosmart All-in-one C7280. They're both installed in my Windows 7. The HP Laser is installed on XP Mode. All of the printers are installed through the network. I was trying to install the Photosmart in XP mode and it wouldn't recognize the printer. So, I tried it through wired network. Then, hooked it up with the USB and it still wouldn't recognize it. I did some searching online and found the USB tab at the top of XP Mode, it sees the printer - when I click "attach" it gives me a message "can't connect using USB try other USB port or restart and try again" I did so and restarted the whole computer and nothing.
I called Sony and they will not help at all because it is considere

32-bit printer driver in XP mode
location:

Printer is a Canon LBP5100 with 32-bit driver only.
Can I install a 32-bit printer driver in XP mode and gain the full driver usage (auto duplex) then use the Windows 7 64-bit inbuilt driver whilst in Windows 7, or is the driver shared between Windows 7 and XP mode?
In other words can I use the same printer in (Windows 7 + XP mode) but use two different drivers 64-bit in Windows 7 and the 32-bit in XP mode?
Hope this makes sense

sharing Windows 7 screen (presentation mode) from XP mode
location:

Hi all,
Hopefully I'm in the correct place here. So as not to confuse anyone, please let me explain.
Our company is looking into upgrading to Windows 7 and I'm sure that you all are having fun dealing with the issues Windows 7 brings. My question is, if we install XP mode on client machines in order to use netmeeting, will we be able to share out the Windows 7 screen from inside XP mode. Maybe a stupid question but better to ask than stay stupid ;o) I have seen the 3 recommended virtualization solutions by Microsoft but which one provides the best possible means of conferencing and presenting the Windows 7 desktop to a group of remote users at little to no cost!
Regards and thanks in advance

Problem with sharing printer between Windows 7 & and Windows Xp
location:
microsoft.com - date:
May 15, 2010
I have a HP 1150 laser printer that is connected to my Windows 7 (Home Premium 64bit) computer by USB. I want to share it with another pc running Xp Pro (SP3), but can't find a suitable printer driver. I have read the thread about sharing printers, and have
carried out most of the steps.
My problem is that although I can see the printer from the xp machine, it requires a suitable driver. I had previously installed the HP drivers and the printer works fine by direct USB connection to the XP machine, but it appears I need an appropriate driver
installed on the W7 machine as well - and I can't seem to find one that works.
Any ideas what to do ?
