I haven't used Media Center for over a month. Yesterday I started it and it had no TV listings. It said it was going to download new listings but it never did. I decided I would just watch some recordings instead, since I was over a month behind on my shows that I haven't watched yet. It is set to record 5 shows regularly. I found that it has not recorded a single show since Saturday Night Live on 5/15/2013. Ok, so I decided I would just watch TV even though the guide wasn't working. That worked fine. Today I set out to fix this problem. I've tried to reset Media Center, below is what I have done, and now it pretty much doesn't work at all. 1st try: going into windows programs and features and uninstalling it, restarting t

.Net Framework 3.5 will not install on windows 8 with media center

I can't run a lot of my programs because .net framework 3.5 won't install. Whenever I try to install .net framework I get error code 0x800F0922. I have tried many different ways of enabling .net framework. I have tried enabling it via control panel (turn windows features on and off).

Windows 8 Pro with Media Center add feature process

Hi.   I am running Windows 8 Pro and I recently added Windows Media Center via Add Features to Windows 8. I was just wondering what happens during the add feature process because after completion, Windows looked like it reset itself to defaults and it wasn't activated. A watermark showing Windows 8 Pro with Media Center and its build also appeared on the desktop. Additionally, the Windows edition under system information now shows Windows 8 Pro with Media Center compared to just showing Windows 8 Pro before. By the way, it returned to its original settings after a few seconds: Windows is activated, the watermark disappeared, my settings were restored, and Media Center is working. Hi, I refreshed my Windows 8 Pro with Media Center installation and it has forgotten my product key, when I try to activate in metro Settings it returns "That key didn't work" and when I try with my original Windows Pro key in desktop control panel it returns "The product key you have entered will not work with this edition of Windows 8. After I upgraded to Windows 8 with Media Center my Media Center Extender has a black screen and no sound.

I have a Linksys DMA2100 Media Center Extender that worked fine with Windows 7. After I upgraded to Windows 8 my extender shows that it is connecting, the the screen goes black with no sound.
