Original title : Realtek HD audio issue
Today I have a very strange problem with my computer's audio.
I came home for lunch today and I had a pretty fun time playing video games for an hour. My sound worked fine, there were no glitches or anything.
I came home after work and there was no sound coming from my computer. Speakers don't work, headphones don't work, microphone doesn't work either.
I am currently running (don't know what is needed so I'll just post it all):
-Windows 7 OS 64 bit
- ASRock Intel Mobo with Realtek HD audio
-Intel Core i5
-Geforce gtx 560 ti
-500 watt Rosewill PSU
-8 GB Gskill Ram
This is what I have done so far:
1. Gone into "Mange Audio Devices" and checked levels, disabled sound ef

Realtek HD Audio Manager not in Control Panel
location:
7forums.com - date:
June 20, 2011
Hi everyone,
I've just installed the latest Realtek driver and the installation goes fine but Realtek HD Audio Manager won't appear in the Control Panel or the System Tray (however, when I go to customize the notification icons, Realtek HD Audio Manager appears as "Show icon and notifications").
I've tried reinstalling time and time again. Also, Device Manager shows 4 instances of "High Definition Audio Device" as well as Realtek High Definition Audio. I've tried uninstalling these and installing Realtek but Windows automatically installs them upon restart.
Anyone got any ideas?

Realtek HD Audio No Rear Sound
location:
7forums.com - date:
June 10, 2009
I have a problem with the Realtek HD Audio. I just installed Windows 7, and configured my audio settings for all my 4 speakers, 2 front and 2 rear. The test was successful, from Realtek HD Audio Manager.
But I was just playing a song on iTunes and there was no sound coming from the rear speakers. I went opened the Audio manager again and checked the settings, and they were fine. I even tested all four speakers and I could hear those BEEPS or whatever from them, but the song only played through the fron speakers.
I went through forum, and found out there's an update to the driver. I just installed it, but it got worse. It doesn't support the 4 speaker settings, all I see is a speaker setting for STEREO. What do I do now, re-install the ol

Win 7 x64 new install on Zotac H55-ITX Wifi - No audio from Realtek HD Audio back panel LR channels!!
location:

Just did a fresh install of Win 7 x64 Home Premium on the Zotac H55-ITX.
I downloaded the drivers from the Zotac website and installed the latest Realtek drivers rtl_hda_vista3264.The drivers do not work.
I get no audio from the back panel LR Channels at all. I set it to stereo - no audio. Set it to 5.1 or 7.1 and it is the LR RR Channels that is play through the LR Channels
The front panel audio works and detects when you plug in the headphones.
The motherboard is not faulty. I ran Ubuntu 9.10 on the system and it played perfectly through the front speakers.
And yes, I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them again.
Discovered that under Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound > Speakers there is no LR - Rear

Realtek HD Audio Manager Control Panel Missing: Sony VAIO
location:
winsecrets.com - date:

I originally posted this message in the Sony VAIO Forum but got nowhere. If there is another section in the Lounge where this post should go, please let me know.
I've owned a Sony VAIO VPCL22SFX/W for a few months now & no one has been able to address this with the exception of an 'anecdote' by one L2 support tech.
My system relies on the Realtek HD Audio driver & controller for sound. However, there is one very crucial element missing from my system. That is the Realtek HD Audio Manager that provides full control panel setup & configuration for sound I/O on any system that uses Realtek's drivers, etc.
The L2 tech told me that Sony was aware of the situation & were working on it, but that was over 3 months ago.

Realtek HD Audio Manager wont open?
location:

Hello, ok so i just bought a custom built computer a couple weeks ago from someone. it works perfectly but i am trying to get the back port for audio and the front port detected as different ports. i have my headset plugged in the back and my speakers in the front. when the speakers are plugged in the front, my headset stops working and the speakers work instead until i unplug the front. i want them both to work at the same time and be detected as different ports. i read that you can do this by changing how the ports are detected in the realtek hd audio manager because thats what reads the ports, u guess. so i tried every single way possible to open this, and it still wont open! i reinstalled it and did everything i can. i found other threa

Realtek HD audio jack only plays sound through one side of headphones
location:
microsoft.com - date:
February 3, 2011
When I plug in my headphones to the front panel audio jack it recognizes my headphones but only plays the sound through the left side earpiece.
I have already unistalled the drivers, restarted, and installed the latest drivers but this doesn't fix anything. I have tried to set the playback to be through only the right headphone but this then plays the sound through the left headphone when it's testing
the right one.
I have also tested the headphones and they work fine.
I'm not sure what the problem is or why this is happening and it seems kind of odd that it would still play sound through the left headphone when it thinks it's the right one
