5.1 Surround Problems with Realtek HD Audio Manager
location:
7forums.com - date:
January 5, 2011
Hi everyone! First post on the forums =P
What the title says. Basically I have had to remove my soundcard (a Creative X-Fi Soundblaster) as it was completely blocking off the fan on my new graphics card (ATI Radeon HD 5850 - and yes there is no space left on my motherboard!). As a result I have to use my onboard sound. My motherboard is a Biostar A760G M2+ but the problem is that with Realtek HD Audio Manager installed my computer just wont play anything but stereo. I have 5.1 speakers but only the far left and far right speakers are playing, regardless of multiple configurations and switches between jack inputs ¬_¬
Im at a complete loss what to do; I know that my motherboard onboard sound supports 5.1 but its just a pain making it

Front jack not working for Realtek HD Audio on Windows 7
location:
7forums.com - date:
January 30, 2009
Hi all,
I've just installed Windows 7 and was very happy to see all the hardware working, even my Realtek HD Audio sound card, except the front jacks.
On windows XP I could solve this by with the Sound Manager that comes with the realtek drivers, and select the "Disable front panel jack detection" check box. Unfortunately, after installing the Vista drivers, I could not start he Sound Manager app beause it said it worked only on Windows Vista.
So, if someone knows a way I could start the manager or how I could set the "Disable front panel jack detection" by modifying the registry, or ofcourse, any other way to make the front jacks work, please help.
Thanks

Mic is not being detected using Realtek HD audio
location:
microsoft.com - date:
March 3, 2013
I just got done installing Windows XP on my computer and have been attempting to get all my things updated and back up and running, but the one thing I cannot seem to get to work anymore is my mic being detected by Windows. Steps I have already taken:
1. Fully updated to Service Pack 3 and all available updates through Windows Update
2. Updated drivers for my motherboard and graphics cards
3. Updated drivers for Realtek HD Audio
4. Tested the headset on another computer (worked just fine, also can hear my own feedback)
Now this problem has only started happening since I installed XP. I actually had a copy of Windows 7 previously but due to me misplacing the disc (and the product key...) I had to revert to a free'd up copy of XP aft

Difficulty with 5.1 sound, Realtek HD Audio Manager
location:
7forums.com - date:

I am posting because I am having trouble getting my 5.1 system to work with my Acer Aspire 7551 laptop the way I want it to. My laptop is connected to my receiver by HDMI, but Realtek HD Audio Manager only supports stereo sound. I have attached a screenshot. Sound only comes out of the front L and R speakers. I understand that music is only mixed in 2-channel stereo, but I have six speakers and I want sound to come out of them.
When I test the speakers in Windows control panel, I can confirm that all of them are working (I have attached a screenshot of that too). I tried installing the Realtek HD audio driver from the Acer website and it didn't fix the problem. Also, I'm not sure how to find out what my sound card is. If someone who is mor

Realtek HD Audio and W7--No sound
location:
microsoft.com - date:

I've been scouring forums for the last couple of days for an answer and nothing has seemed to work. I've just built a brand spanking new pc, but I can't get the sound to work.
Asus M4A88TD-V EVO/ USB3 motherboard; Realtek HD Audio with W7 Home premium, 64 bit.
According to the computer everything is working fine. I have green checkmarks, dancing green sound bars, no errors anywhere.
What I have tried so far is making sure the speaker wires are plugged in firmly, and in the correct spots. Onboard Audio is turned on in Bios. I've tested my rig on different speakers, and tested different speakers on the rig. Nothing is muted, I have power,
and 'Speakers' -the realtek card- is defaulted as my sound device.
All of the ports are labeled cor

No 5.1 Audio in Realtek HD Audio Manager
location:

I have five speakers and one subwoofer connected to a Samsung HT-Z310 DVD-player, and then connect that to my MacBook using AUX 2.
(I have no idea what AUX 2 is, but that's what the tiny display on the DVD-player says.)
The problem is that the Mac only plays stereo on them.
When I open Realtek HD Audio Manager, in the "Speakers" tab, and the "Speaker Configuration" subtab, "Speaker Configuration" is set to "Stereo" by default. And it's grayed out, so I can't change it.
Further than that, I only have two options: "Full-range Speakers" - "Front left and right" and "Headphone Virtualization".
I have also tried "Control Panel", "Hardware and Sound

No 5.1 option in Realtek HD Audio Mgr - only stereo

Hello and thank you,
I have an Asus M4A89GTD Pro mobo, winch has on-board "Realtek ALC 892 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC". This is a brand new build.
I'm using a TOSLINK optical cable to connect it to a Samsung HT-TX72 receiver, set up w/ 5.1.
I've downloaded, installed and re-installed the latest Realtek driver -10/18/2011, ver. 6.0.1.6482
When I open the Realtek manager, there are only two tabs: "Digital Output(Optical)" and "Digital Output" - see snip below. Thats all. Every tutorial shows 4 tabs, including "Speakers" - see snip below.
I've spent many hours searching for a solution to a problem no one else seems to have, so perhaps I'm missing something so very basic .
fwiw, I have

Realtek HD Audio Manager in Windows 7 disables the front input and output jacks.
location:

We recently purchased a new computer with Windows 7. The sound manager, Realtek HD Audio Manager, disables the front input and output jacks. It does not actually recognise the front jacks when you insert the headphones or microphone (which it does for
the rear jacks). I have tried to reinstall it but the same thing happens. I am getting desperate.
