Programs Crash, error: Fault module kernelbase.dll . Application crash
location:
microsoft.com - date:
March 18, 2010
I have several programs that seems to be in some conflict with kernelbase.dll. They crash the moment I start them and kernelbase.dll is the fault module.
I've tried installing windows twice but the problem persist.
I've tried running in 'clean boot'.
I've tried 'Windows Resource Protection'
I've tried running the program in different compatability states.
Nothing helps. Any ideas?
The error message is pasted below:

Minecraft Tekkit Crash (Java 7u5 x64 Crash fault module: awt.dll)
location:
7forums.com - date:
July 27, 2012
On my laptop when I went fullscreen on Minecraft Tekkit, it stopped responding then crashed. No big deal, but I'm curious if anyone here knows anything about the crash...
Java version: Oracle Java 7u5 x64 Crash fault module: awt.dll
^this line in the error makes me wonder if the GUI of Tekkit/Minecraft caused the crash, as I think AWT is a Java GUI API. Minecraft scales its GUI when the window size changes, so I am wondering if there was maybe an error in said scaling when I tried going fullscreen.
This only happens sometimes, though.

"iTunes Has Stopped Working."? (Fault Module: ntdll.dll)
location:
7forums.com - date:

It used to work perfectly, but kept giving me that message every time I attempted to open it. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything related to iTunes, but finally resorted to downloading the new version of iTunes, and seeing if that would work. Well of course, it didn't work, so I tried using Repair in the control panel, and repaired QuickTime to play it safe. QuickTime continues to work perfectly, but iTunes has yet to open. It does give me the details though -

Windows Explorer Crash (fault module is "thumbcache.dll")
location:
microsoft.com - date:
May 16, 2013
Hello,
I have been using Windows 8 Pro for a few months. I am facing an "explorer crash" since when I restricted deleting thumbnail cache for faster folder loading. I did it by adding a "deny" permission(delete subfolders and files, delete) in the security option
of the folder C:\Users\User_Name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer. This worked fine in my previous Windows 7 Ultimate. But in Window 8 Pro it causing an Explorer Crash as soon as the "ThumbcacheToDelete" folder is created inside the Explorer folder.
Report of crash is added below.

location:

Hello,
I think that I have found the answer to every ones problems with Windows 7 64 bit crashing. I have battled the crashes for a year and swapped out all kinds of hardware-video cards, reinstalled windows several times and made sure all my drivers were up to
date. None of that fixed the issue. What FIXED my crashes is adding 2g more memory. I had 4g of ram and windows 7 would crash playing game. After upgrading my memory from 4 to 6g my computer has been ROCK solid. Has not crash in over 2 weeks. I talked
to a software expert were I worked and he told me that 64bit will use more memory then the 32 bit.
I REALLY believe that this is the fix for most people based on al

Hello
Unfortunately, your fix didn't solve my problem of Win7 64bit crashing when playing many games. My VelocityMicro gaming pc came with Win 7 64bit installed and 6g of ram.
The crashes are a recent problem as games like Torchlight ran problem free until two months ago. I've cleaned the registry, defragged, scanned the HD for errors, and changed msconfig startup so only windows os, virus software and my razor mouse driver
load. The games still crash. My video driver ( NVidia GeForce GTX 295) is the latest.
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.100618-1621)
