Problem with YouTube. Videos stop buffering. ISP filtering?
location:

Hello all. I'm at my wits end with this problem. I really hope some one can help.
About 3 weeks ago this problem developed. When watching a video on YouTube it will stop loading and the video will freeze with the circluar 'buffering symbol'. I can see the gray progress bar stop at the bottom of the video. Sometimes this will happen after as long as 5-10 mins and sometimes after 5 seconds. Refreshing the page does not seem to help as the video will stop in the same place. BBC iPlayer seems to work fine though. I also have a good internet speed. Running multiple speed tests I get about 7.7 mbs.
Now here are the things I've tried to fix the problem:
Tried on multiple computers including a Mac running Snow Leopard. Still the same

Problem With YouTube
location:

I wonder if any of you out there can advise with a problem with YouTube.
When attempting to watch any link posted in my emails or if I go to the site on my desktop, then once the 'ad' stops playing and the YouTube Video starts, it freezes my screen and the page is lost and I frequently get a message at the bottom of the screen asking if I wish to recover the webpage. Even if I do so, the exact same thing happens again. However, I have YouTube as an app and when I use that to start watching a video, I have no problem whatsoever.
Can anyone advise why this should be so. It would certainly be more convenient if I had the option to go straight to it from my desktop.
Thanks

problem with youtube freezes in windows 8.1
location:

Hello,
my laptop asked me to upgrade to Windows 8.1 from the store and I did it. Now, when I use google chrome, youtube freezes when I have more than 1 tab, so now I'm not able to do something else and play music from youtube in the background. But I was able
to do this in the Windows 8 version. I don't know how to fix this. Can anyone please help? If the solution is to go back to Windows 8, I'm willing to do that, too, as long as it will save me from frustration. My laptop model is HP 2000-2c25DX Notebook.

Problem opening YouTube with Windows 7
location:
winsecrets.com - date:

I get the following error message when I try to access Youtube or a similar video website on my Windows 7 (64-bit) system. This occurs with both Foxfire and IE 8 browsers, does not happen on an XP system on the same local network (i.e. I don't think it is an Internet / Server / ISP problem).
Error message:
404 Not Found

Grateful for all suggestions / solutions / fixes ...

Youtube problem with flash.

Today i tried to access youtube, to be greeted by "Go upgrade" when loading a video.
The link sends me to the Adobe Site to download Flash. I closed Opera, installed it, reopened Opera and youtube to find nothing had changed.
I even tried uninstalling the old version first, then installing this version.
Anyone else having this problem?

Problem With Playing Videos on VLC, YouTube, etc.
location:

I think this is a bit of an unusual problem, but basically sometimes when I load my computer it will not play videos or load skype. Internet browsing and other applications seem to work fine but VLC, windows media player, youtube and skype will not run at all.
In saying this, I mean that I will try to play a video for instance and it simply won't play. No audio, no video, no error message.
Now what I have learnt though, is I can restart my computer which tends to fix it. This doesn't happen all the time, but roughly 1 in every 3 or 4 times I boot up my computer, I have this issue.
So yeah, it's somewhat annoying and I'd like to understand why this is happening and what I can do to stop it from happening.
Other notables are that my wi

Windows Update problem with Windows 8 Pro
location:

System is an HP Slimline desktop, which *had* been running Windows 8 Pro on a trial basis. Restored/wiped said system (from recovery media) back to Windows 7 Home Premium, and set it up for production use. Got the Win 8 Pro upgrade, and installed it. Trying to run Windows update to grab the four updates that were posted today.
The update keeps failing with an error message. The error code is: 80070543, and the message is: "Windows Update ran into a problem."
Clicked on the "get help with this error" link. Ran the Windows Update troubleshooter, that supposedly finds some problems with Windows Update, and then fixes them. Rerun Windows Update, attempt to download and install the four updates. Update fails, repeate

Problem with open network + web auth on Windows 8
location:
winsecrets.com - date:
November 24, 2012
Hello guys,
I have installed Windows 8 today, and I have only one problem : I can't connect to an open network.
The school's network is an open network (no password) with a web authentification. So I connect, I have the icon that says that I don't have internet, normal. Then I try to open a webpage, any (should get redirected to the auth page), I just get a network problem, can't load page etc. (as if no connection).
I tried using the Intel Wifi connection utility which was a mindbend to find/download thanks to their site : didn't work, same behavior.
Any idea before I go back to Windows 7 ?
Thanks for you help guys,
Crown.

Problem with Xbox Games app

Hi all,
I just installed Windows 8 Pro onto my Dell Inspiron Duo. I've got a weird problem with the Games app. My avatar is grayed out and when I click on "View Profile" it tells me "Cannot connect to Xbox. Please try again later." The confusing bit is that I am signed in, no problems, with a working internet connection. Any idea as to what is going on?
