Outlook 2010 (32-bit) Errors under Windows 8 (64-bit)
location:

Outlook 2010 (32-bit), operating under Windows 8 (64-bit) is presenting me with repeated random crashes. I can download mail without any problems; I can similarly send mail with no problems. I can read mail in the preview pane and even click on links in the preview pane with no problems. But SOMETIMES (not always, that's what puzzles me) when I try to open an e-mail, I get the error "Microsoft Outlook has stopped working..." and then it sometimes manages to re-start, and sometimes instructs me to close the program. I have sent myself plain text e-mails and sometimes they can be opened just fine, and at other times they cause the crash when I try to open them. On a few occasions I have also experienced the crash when pressing the E

When using Microsoft Outlook 2010 (32-bit), all works fine until I try to open an e-mail with hyperlinks or attached photos in it that is being viewed in "preview" mode. frequently (but not always), Outlook crashes and tries to recover itself. I have run Office Repair, but the issue is still present. I have disabled my firewall/anti-virus program, but it has no effect. Any suggestions?

Cannot install .NET 3.5 under Windows 8 Pro
location:
8forums.com - date:
March 2, 2013
So I recently had to do a reformat and reinstall of Windows 8 on my homebuilt PC, due to a driver/corrupt system file issue that a system restore couldn't fix. Back in the previous installation I had installed it without any issues and I was able to run software compiled under .NET 3.5 fine. Now I can't install it again after reformatting... I downloaded the full installer for it, and went to install it, and before the actual installer could start Windows kept telling me the installer required .NET 3.5 ("An app on your PC needs the following feature: .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 3.0 and 2.0)"), when this is an installer for it! I also tried the "bootstrapper" installer, which downloads the files itself inst

FPS limited to wrong value, when VSYNC is off, under Windows 8
location:
microsoft.com - date:
November 7, 2012
It is common for performance gamers to turn VSYNC off and rely on frame limiters to reduce lag.
Playing "Unreal Tournament 2004", under Windows 8 (Desktop), wrongly gives a limited frame rate of
83 FPS when the following settings are used:
UseVSync=FalseMaxClientFrameRate=90
I'm using an AMD Radeon HD 7850 graphics card.
I don't want to buy a 120Hz monitor until I can be sure that Windows/DirectX limits the FPS correctly.

Outlook Express to Hotmail under Windows 8
location:
microsoft.com - date:
February 6, 2013
I have migrated from Outlook Express under Windows XP to Hotmail under Windows 8 as instructed by loading all messages into the "Cloud". all folder have come through correctly except the messages sent folder. All messages are there but they all show the
name of the sender (me) not the name of the recipient so finding any specific message is difficult.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Problem installing Simplified Chinese Language Pack on Windows 8 Pro
location:
microsoft.com - date:
December 16, 2012
Hello,
I accidentally restarted my computer when it's in the middle of downloading/installing Simplified Chinese Language Pack. Now I'm having problem installing that language. Traditional Chinese Language Pack installed properly, but every time I tried
to install the Simplified Chinese Language Pack, WIndows skips the download step and goes straight to the install step and after a few minutes said "failed". I believe I have corrupted the download. How do delete the downloaded files and have windows download
the files when I do an install?

A problem with Aten UC232A serial converter in windows 8
location:
microsoft.com - date:
January 4, 2013
Hi,
I solved this by copying the folder from a Windows 7 Client. C:\Program Files (x86)\...something.
Anyway, I compressed the folder and uploaded it to my SkyDrive account
http://sdrv.ms/TNJJOR
This is the driver from the 64bit installer.
I used my UC232A to configure a HP MSM430 AP to day, and it worked like a charm :)
best regards
Anders Eide
Thanks.

Thanks, Anders, for these files. I had the same problem with the yellow triangle in Device Manager. I downloaded the latest Win8.1 driver from the IOmega site; however, the yellow triangle and Code 10 persisted until I tried you driver. -- Carl
