No Forward/back gesture on the touchpad - failure
location:
8forums.com - date:

And I really hoped they would do the Precision touchpad driver properly, like Synaptics driver worked...
but nope. Three finger swipe to the left/right just cycles open windows.
I want it to do a forward/back on internet sites instead of trying to click on the little backwards arrow by painfully navigating the cursor to the upper-left side of the screen, or trying to find the key combination in the dark.
Why can't I? why, M$?
To make things worse, there IS an option for choosing what three finger swipe does... but you can pick "cycle apps" and "nothing". WTF! WHY!?
Is there any way to make it work, or am I doomed? Damn, I miss the synaptics drivers so much..
(I use Dell XPS 13 9343)

Will Microsoft release laptop touchpad drivers with Win 8 gesture support?
location:
microsoft.com - date:

Hi all,
I bought a Windows 7 Ultrabook (Samsung Series 5 Ultra) this Summer and have upgraded to Windows 8 Pro following all the promotions. However, Samsung has not released updated touchpad drivers (I have an ELAN touchpad) to support the new Windows 8 gestures,
and unfortunately has not shown any signs of releasing an update any time soon.
I have been left with a new laptop which supports multitouch gestures in Windows 7, but does not support gestures in Windows 8.
I understand that the bundled touchpad drivers supplied by Microsoft in Windows 8 are very basic and do not support the new gestures either. This seems entirely odd given the importance of navigation and the focus on "natural interaction" in Windows 8. Aren't

My touchpad no longer responds to finger movements to scroll, zoom etc.
Works fine as far as moving the mouse pointer goes. Guess I've tweaked something or turned it off - anyone any ideas how to get it back?

synaptics touchpad no multitouch gestures
location:

I just got a new laptop from work. I am trying to activate multitouch gestures, however I have been unable to get it to work. I tried installing the latest Synaptics drivers update, however when I got to the driver and click on settings it has no options
for activation at all. Most of the screen shots I have seen online show a long list of options that may be turned on and off. However, mine has only one box I can't uncheck called buttons. Is there a problem with my hardware? How do I find out? Should I download
a different driver? I have a Dell notebook with a standard appearing touchpad.

Touchpad Gesture 3rd Party Support
location:
8forums.com - date:

Hi everyone!
I'm really enjoying Windows 10, but I think there is one thing that would really make my user experience better. More customizable trackpad shortcuts. I would like to create a macro that runs when I do things such as side swipes that used to bring the charms bar up in Windows 8.
Basically my question is if there are any 3rd party applications that are capable of this kind of macro creation.
(P.S. My trackpad can handle all the different motions and gestures)

I wish to purchase a full OEM of windows 8 professional 32bit. I can't seem to locate a stand alone OS...most of these things are upgrades meaning you have to already have some compatible OS installed...THAT IS NOT WHAT I WANT! Doesn't windows 8 professional
come in a true FULL version that isn't dependent on another OS being installed?
I also want it on a tangible disk/s not the downloaded version. But I can't seem to locate any of what I am seeking does anyone have the UPC for the system builder stand alone windows 8 professional full product?
The drive I bought is brand new, no existing OS,...and I already know I want windows 8 professional not windows 8 or some other previous version of th

Windows 8 Clean Install from Upgrade Disk to SSD with no Operating System
location:

I'm about to build a new pc and would like to know if I need to buy a full version of Windows 8 or can I use the update version to do a clean install on a disk drive which does not contain any operating system? It was possible to install Windows 7 from an upgrade rather than having to buy the full version so can something similar be done with Windows 8 and still be legitimate within the licence agreement?

Windows 8 Upgrade, Yes or No?
location:
winsecrets.com - date:

Wondering...
1. If I purchase the upgrade online (no DVD) is there a way to save the file that MS delivers to me (considering only Windows 8 Pro, 64 bit)? Assuming that there is, would that, in effect, be a full Windows 8 or an upgrade? When burnt to a dvd would it be bootable (like a new Windows installation)? Should I need to reinstall this Windows 8 (if it is not a full version) must I install Windows 7 (also Pro, 64 bit) first and then install Windows 8 over it?
2. The Gadgets are not supported. Are there "non-Gadget equivalent whatevers" - do the same thing but not use the Gadget-way-of-doing-things? If yes, from the Store? Or?
3. The Upgrade Assistant states that I must "remove authorized pcs" for iTunes. Do
