my hp windows 8 laptop won39t start up

HP Laptop windows 7 won't start up and can't do a system restore.

So the SMART program has warned me about an imminent hard drive crash for a while. Yesterday Windows was installing updates when my dad closed the laptop lid, when I come home afterschool today, I open the lid and it is frozen. Windows warns not to power off during the updates but since it is frozen I have no choice so I power it off. I have constantly getting BSODs, and have to do a system restore everyday so I was not too worried when it wouldn't start up. So i hit f11 when i turn on my computer and it takes me to the HP Recovery Manager, HOWEVER this time the option to do a System Restore was greyed out and I can't click it! I don't have working recovery CDs so what can I do about this?? My new hard drive is also coming in tomorrow, but

The store on my windows 8 laptop is not working

I have a Lenovo ideapad with windows 8. About a month ago, I reset my computer because it wasn't working. Now the windows store that shows will not work. It says that there are network connection problems and to try again in a few minutes. Well, I checked to see if there were any problems and there weren't. I hope you can respond right away because it is causing my other apps to start crashing down too.

unable to connect my Windows 8 laptop to my Windows 8 phone hotspot

Loaded Win 8 on HP Probook 6450. Bought a Windows 8 HTC phone. When I go to run the hotspot from my phone to the laptop - it connects but says the connection is "Limited". It shows connected on my phone.   It would not work on my Gateway with Windows 7 but worked on my iPad 2.   I updated my driver for wireless.

I cant install Flight Simulator X on my Windows 8 laptop. Error 1722 and 1603

I am able to install the FSX demo without any issues whatsoever, but everytime I try to install the full game I get the same error just as the installation process is finishing. I have already tried the fix that Microsoft released for the game as an administrator but didn't work. I really want to get this game installed as soon as possible. All comments well appreciated.

Windows 8 programs and start menu keep randomly popping up help!

Ok so I have started a windows 8 program, I hide it and go to my desktop and use programs chrome etc. every few minutes that same program I hid keeps popping up, I close it and it keeps popping up for 3-5 times and then it goes away. Anyone know what causes this?

I have a new windows 8 laptop. It has been working great. Then all of the sudden my internet connection is Limited.

I have an Asus vivobook with windows 8.  Earlier today I did uninstall Mcafee and turned on the windows firewall.  I am already using AVG.  All was working so well.  Then I selected the Fox news app from the metro and my connection became limited.  The windows firewall says to allow Fox news.  I tried troubleshooting the problem but it could not help me.  I tried turning off the  firewall and reconnecting to the internet.  Did not work.  I looked online with another computer in the house which has no problem connecting to the internet, and tried to reset a few things suggested on the web but nothing. I have restarted my laptop.  No change.  Can you help me?

MY WINDOWS 8 LAPTOP IN BLUE SCREEN error: 0x000021a

I'm using windows 8 with my Samsung Ultrabook and it just went into blue screen with that sad face.. during start-up it says that the automatic repair couldn't repair your pc..it also says the error: 0x000021a.. i don't know much about rebooting but when i followed the steps in the forums, using the command prompt..it says that it cannot be done because its write protected. i haven't tried refreshing my pc yet for the fear of loosing some files. please help me support team!! - Is there any solution that does not require the windows recovery dvd or usb drive?? - Can refreshing my pc help me solve the problem?

My brand new (a week old) sony windows 8 laptop drops the wireless connection every time it goes into sleep mode.

It shows the network but won't allow me to connect to it. I click on the "help me solve the connection problem" and go to the network adapter trouble-shooter and select Wi-Fi and run the diagnostics and comes up with an error message of  "wireless service are not running." I am able to fix it manually through the troubleshooting settings but it is extremely irritating having to do that every time I open my laptop... How do I get the wireless services to run automatically?   I have checked my drivers and they are up to date... I have looked under power settings but it does not give me any option for wireless services.   Please help. I am frustrated and ready to return this laptop
