Hey,
I just transfered some video from my CANON HF R10 HD CAM. It is an AVCHD cam and the files transfered over have a .MTS extension and also a .CPI file with the same name.
For some reason I can see the video through either media player or through the media center, but there is no sound. The program it came with PIXELA Imagemixer plays the video fine and has sound but I do not want to use this program. I want to be able to view everything through window default programs.
My OS is Windows 7 64bit Home premium.
Now I did check from my laptop running 32bit windows home premium the same files through the network and both Video and Sound works.
So, what can I do to fix this?
Please help, it's driving me nuts. I'm tired and want to g

I have a HP laptop and updated from Windows Vista. Whenever the laptop restarts from a sleep, there is not sound on the computer and the videos are slow and choppy. Any suggestions? I updated all drivers and updates from Microsoft, but still have issue.
Once I shut down and boot back up, the issue is gone.

The question says it all really.
I used to have Vista and uploaded all my videos and could play them back with sound. Since I've had Windows 7 I can play them back but they have no sound.

I was rudely interrupted during a truly hilarious episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm to the cruel sound... of silence.
I know this is an old problem, I've searched high and low for a fix for hours, but none seem to pertain to my specific set of circumstances. Any help would be great.
Situation as follows; watching media on VLC, audio stops, laptop goes all crashy, I reboot, still no audio, red 'x' on volume icon, troubleshooting results in message reading "hardware changes might not have been detected".
I check device manager to see whats going on, there is no sound/video/game line visible. There are no unknown devices, exclamation marks, yellow triangles or anything. I hooked in my external soundcard to see if that was ok an sur

No output device/ no sound video game controller

Please help!!!! I have that horrible problem of" No audio output device installed" and the red x over my sound icon, which means no sound. BUT I also have another problem.
Many say to fix this problem with windows 7 by going to device manager and fixing it under the catagory of sound video and game controller. Problem is, I DONT HAVE THAT OPTION!!!!!
I have no line that says sound video and game controller at all in my device manager. THAT is the major frustrating part.I have no idea where to go now. It seems like an easy fix, but i cant even get started because i dont have the selection available. WTH??
I downloaded realtek hd for 7 already and ran it. No luck. Still red x.
All it tells me is "hardware changes may not h
