From the start>all programs window I am missing all Microsoft Office programs that are installed on my computer. Some other installed programs are also missing from this menu. In cases where I have shortcuts on my desktop the programs are still accessible
and functioning. Also my administrator account is missing although my other account has admin privileges. When this happened there was a blink of my desktop and some icons disappeared while others shifted around. I have loaded the MS office disk and ran
repair to no avail.

Default adminstrator account missing from the welcome screen after creating a new user account

Original Title: Orig Administrator login gone -new one shows - inquiry
HI,
As this is a one man office I use the orig Administrator login for everything.
I decided I wanted to open a new login that would not start all the programs that normally start as I need this to be quite free of things running.
I created the account called RADIO and gave it full privileges as I still wanted to be able to do things as Admin.
I rebooted and up came the new Radio login and nothing else. I expected both Radio and Administrator to come up so i could choose and go back and forth.
I saw there were very few icons on the screen and certainly not the ones I wanted to be able to use as Radio.
I was able to get back th

Windows 7 Notebook cannot access Windows 8 Shared folder on different user account
location:

Hi,
I've a new Windows 8 PC and a older Windows 7 Notebook. With the Windows 8 PC I've set it up initially with my windows live account. I then decided to setup a local account instead. Both account has the same user name, if I look under the user folder, I'll
have a folder called USER and another USER_2. The fist USER account is associated to my Windows live account as mentioned.
My Windows 8 PC has not problem accessing the Windows 7 notebook, it always ask for a user and password when I first connect.
My Windows 7 notebook also does not have problem accessing the Windows 8 PC until I removed USER and added USER_2 to the permission list of the sharing setting.

Restore My Videos folder to user account
location:
7forums.com - date:

OK I have lost 'My Videos' folder from within my user profile and I want to restore it.
I have searched and search and found ways to do many other things related to the user folders but none show how to get it back after its deleted.
Win 7 Home Premium x64
I lost it when I swapped in a new hdd and had to move where all my videos were. I had previously altered the location property to where they were stored. But when the new drive was added and the old one removed ... there was a drive change and the My Video link became white and had no editable properties.
So I guess i did this
1. Moved the location of My Video folder to Drive: F/Videos
2. Removed the Hdd with F:/My Videos
3. Added HDD with G:/My Videos
4. Now in my user folders i have

User account auto-login
location:
8forums.com - date:

Every time Windows 8 boots, the system tries to login as the last user account that was used. If the account has a password, the user will be asked for a password first thing when the system starts up; if not, the system will directly log in to the user account. Some users in my house don't want to have a password and I have to log out of their accounts and again log in to mine every time I start the computer after they used it. I'd just prefer to start with a tiled user list, in a similar fashion as it was in Windows 7 (or after you log out in Win 8). Is it possible to disable this auto-login feature? The only way I found involves the system asking not only for the password but for the username as well, which is hardly satisfacto

How do I set up my PC to automatically boot into a certain user account? I have two separate user logins and one has no password on the account and the other has a password.
I want to be able to start up my pc and it will go and log into the one with no password without me having to click the icon for that account.
Thanks

Deleting an Administrator user account
location:
winsecrets.com - date:
June 18, 2011
Initially my home-office computer just booted up to my desktop. I am the sole user of this computer and its administrator. About a year ago I was having some problems and ATT support, in helping me solve them, created an Administrator User Account (in addition to my regular User account (Keith). When I restart my computer now I have to chose between Keith (the only account I use) and "Administrator". I would like to get rid of "Adminstrator" User user showing up, so I just boot up to a desktop. (I don't use a password to get into this home computer.
But the User "Administrator" does not show up under Control Panel--User Accounts (only Keith shows up there). So I can't delete the account in the usual way. &quo

After Windows 8 upgrade user account no longer has admin. rights
location:
microsoft.com - date:
October 27, 2012
Just upgraded to Windows 8. Now my user account no longer has administrator privileges as it did on Windows 7 and I am basically unable to do much of anything that I need to do. None of the instructions I've found online to access the hidden Windows
8 administrator account work.
I am at a loss at this point. I can't even set up a new user account and give it administrator privileges without already being on an administrator account.
Anyone have any idea what I can do from here?
Thanks!
