I am looking to upgrade my graphics card. But I'm not sure by reading the descriptions what would be the best fit for my existing system.
Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66GHz Motherboard - ASUSTeK Computer INC. P5E 4.00 GB with 3.25 GB available Graphics Card - Radeon X1950 Series (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM) High Definition Audio Device Hard drive WDC WD7501AALS-00J7B0 ATA Device
Should I go Radeon like what I have? Can I go GeForce? I need to ensure that it can connect to my monitor as well as my large flatscreen. And play dvd's/blu rays on it as well. (I have a blu ray drive ready to go)
Opinions?
If anyone wants to point to a specific one, I'm buying from HERE, unle

location:

I installed a Sapphire Radeon X1300 PCI-e card in a system running Windows 7 Home Premium. The system runs a lot better with the card but I get the following error when I try using the Aero glass effect:
"The current video card may support Aero with a driver that is compliant with the Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM)."
Haven't had much luck trying to find this one on my own. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Need help with PCI video card upgrade on and old Dell 4500S
location:

I've got a problem, and I'd like to get some help suggestions.
In the upgrade of an old Dell 4500S for a friend (whose monitor died, so we started from there) I upgraded the 256MB of memory with 2GB, and upgraded the 20GB hard drive with a 60GB version.
The old dead monitor was replaced by a Samsung S20B300B 20" 16x9 LCD whose native resolution is 1600x900.
However the old onboard Intel i845g GPU graphics chip in the 4500S (82845G) is supported by old drivers that do not have a 1600x900 resolution option. There is one pretty close rectangular resolution available, 1280x768 but it's a bit cartoonish.
Anyway, I decided to install an external discrete PCI graphics card (replacing the PCI FAX-modem card which is in the "spare&quo

First of all, I would like to know how much of a difference Going from 3GB to 8GB of RAM Will Make. Right now I have 2 1GB sticks and 2 512MB sticks, and im thinking of going to 4 2GB sticks. I would also like details on converting from a 32-bit windows to a 64-bit windows for free so i can fully use all 8GB of RAM. I have already looked over 64-bit compatibility and everything I have will convert except 1 game I just bought. Also I should put this in a different thread but I would like to upgrade my 128MB Video Card to a 512MB Video card and would like to know what would be the cheapest and best choice as far as video cards go. Also keep in mind the video card will have to be compatible with a 64-bit operating system. I already looked ove

Age of Empires II - "could not initialize graphics system. make sure that your video card and driver are compatible with DirectDraw"

Hi,
I am having trouble running Age of Empires 2 on my new computer. The following error message keeps displaying: "could not initialize graphics system. make sure that your video card and driver are compatible with DirectDraw." Does anyone have any solutions
to this? I have already visited many forums and tried various solutions; none of them has helped!
Solutions tried: Changing compatibility settings and running as administrator, switching to 16-bit color, disabling my graphics card, running the "nostartup" extension of the game, looking for old Microsoft patches (which are mostly unavailable now due to
the game being so old). I KNOW others have been able to get this game to work on the Windows 7 OS, albeit with some
