WD Essential 2.0 HD recognized but no letter assigned

I just connected for the first time a Western Digital My Book Essential Edition 2.0 external hard drive and it appears in my devices as My Book. I cannot access it however. There is no letter assigned to this drive and when I try to assign one using disk management, the option to assign a letter is grayed out and therefore not usable. The drive is showing in the disk management screen and all appears to be well except that there is no letter assigned and I am not able to give it one. Any ideas?

Is Windows DVD maker compatible with Windows 8?

Windows Movie Maker came with Windows 8 but not with Windows DVD Maker. I noticed this free Download "Windows Movie Maker and Windows DVD Maker SDK"http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=4730 in the Microsoft Download Center but says its
for Vista. If I download this will it overwrite Windows Movie Maker with an earlier version? And is the Windows DVD maker compatible with Windows 8?

Just bought a Dell Inspiron with a pre-installed Windows 8.Want to setup a wi-fi network at home but the wi-fi routers that i chekcked over the internet, most of them are not Windows8 compatible. Please suggest wi-fi routers(preferably D-Link/Netgear) suitable for home network and compatible with Windows 8.
