location:

I have question Does Windows 8 have a Safe Mode and were do I find it. the reason I ask this is because I have tried going into Safe Mode in Windows 8 by hitting the F8 key so I could run my virus scanner to see if there are any virus that it may not be finding under normal mode. But when I reboot my computer and try going into safe mode in Windows 8 nothing happens. IS THERE A SAFE MODE?

I have read multiple other posts that are similar to this issue but seem to be a different issue. Here is what I have done thus far. Reinstall windows Disable all startup items before and after the reinstall start in safe mode The only way that I am able to do anything with the computer (Laptop) is to have it in safe mode. Otherwise it is so slow that I can't even click on the start menu. When I press CTRL + ALT + DEL it will wait a moment and then bring up the screen to select shutdown, restart, task manager and some other things or cancel. If i select task manager it will bring it up and I can click on performance and see no unusual memory or CPU usage however; when I look at the CPU indicator light it is almost 100% solid. Another t

Finding Safe Mode in Windows 8 isn't easy
By Ryan Matthew Pierson
When Windows starts behaving badly, booting in Safe Mode has long been a key troubleshooting tool.
Like its predecessors, Windows 8 includes a safe-mode boot option, but — as with many things in the new OS — it works a little differently. The full text of this column is posted at windowssecrets.com/windows-8/finding-safe-mode-in-windows-8-isnt-easy/ (paid content, opens in a new window/tab).

Hello,
My computer has been working fine until a couple of days ago, I tried turning it on and it booted fine up until the after the windows loading sign, the screen just goes black , but you can hear the windows logon sound. However, safe mode with networking seems to work just fine. What could be the problem?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Windows 7 has slowed almost to stop even in safe mode

I was running Chrome with quite few tabs open (17-25) on an ASUS Laptop. And then everything just stopped responding. I tried restarting the pc and was stuck at the "welcome" part of logging on for 1h+ before shutting it off and starting i safemode. It actually logs in, but when i click start it takes 1-2 minutes for the start window to pop up and when i click on anything in there (in safe mode mind you) it takes 5-10 min before it opens control panel or anything else. I dont know whats wrong. The only other issue i have is sometimes my computer would glitch out while doing something with graphics and the sound would sound like bass from a techno song and everything would go all choppy on my screen for 1-3 seconds but then it wou

Hello all,
After trying to scan my computer with tdskiller (I believe its called) to remove some viruses, I was asked to reboot. When I did, my backround desktop picture turned black, files seemed to be missing from my desktop and a window poped up scanning and telling me how many errors I had. Shortly after I got about 20 error pop up messages. I rebooted my computer and more files were missing to the point all I had was recycle bin, and two other programs.
Now the computer runs only in safe mode, No matter what I do (pressing f8 - start in normal mode) nothing works. I cant get internet access, and worst of all, I cant even system restore or even recover it back to to the malfunctioners option due to errors. I am stuck and do not kno

Hi all,
I have an Asus X72J series running windows 7 64-bit. To make it simple, windows doesn't manage to boot normally, but it works if I start it in safe mode. I would like to know if there is any tutorial which proposes step by step processes in order to locate the source of the problem.
I have alreay run startup repair 5 times with restarts between each, and it ended up it could not resolve my problem.
Besides:
- I have not installed any software before having this trouble
- I have not installed any new peripheral or driver
- I checked the memory and HDD and both are fine
- My guess is that there is a driver or hardware compatibility problem somewhere, since the trouble appeared after a long time passed in hibernation (extended s
