Internet gets slow after windows updates failed to install
location:

So, today I downloaded and installed some windows updates which I think important.
but, because of my internet connection was using USB modem, it seems that some of the updates failed to download and I stopped it. and then I installed the rest which successfully downloaded and logged back in. and there was a notification stated that two updates were failed to installed. but I ignored and continued to what I was working on.
and problem occurs. i noticed that my internet connection became slow. well, usually my internet is fast. at first, i thought the connection problem was because of the provider's bugs (usually when a problem shows up, it was all the provider's fault. i've checked the signal on the modem and they're no problem, so I

Internet connection slow after windows xp SP3 update

My system: XP Pro Ver 2002 SP3. After the updates, my internet connect is slow and intermittent. I sometimes have to reload/refresh the page 2 to 5 times to get them to FULLY load. I am using both IE8 and FireFox 12.0. I also run Norton Security Suite.
In addition, I have another computer with the same specs but have not done the updates on it and it performs fine. No additional software installation or updates have been done on the computer I am having problems with. It worked flawlessly before the automatic
update.
My computer performed an automatic update on June 13, 2012 for the following:
Security Update for Windows XP (KB2707511)

Internet access disabled after Windows Updates applied

After the latest Windows Updates are installed, I lose all connection to the Internet. I can still see my network, but not anything on the internet.
I spent an hour yesterday on the phone with my ISP verifying it was neither their system nor a hardware issue with my modem or router. I spend another 1/2 hour on the phone with Dell Support.
It turned out the issue was my DNS was corrupted, and the only way to get it back was to perform a System Restore to 8/16. Everything was fine after that... until Windows Update ran automatically last night, installing the latest two so-called critical updates.
I don't know which one is causing the problem, but my DNS was wiped out again, and I have again had to restore to the 8/16 reco

Windows 8 Pro boots slow after windows updates
location:
microsoft.com - date:
July 22, 2013
I have a gaming PC that I built about a year ago, and I recently updated it to Windows 8 by formatting the hard disk and installing Windows 8 Pro OEM onto my gaming PC. I installed the OEM version because I had to get a new hard drive that had nothing
installed on it and it needed a new Operating System installed on it. It worked fine on Windows 8 for quite a while, about a month, until I installed some Windows updates that were made available, and after they were installed, the next time I shut down and
turned on my PC, the boot was significantly longer than last time. All it does when I boot now is it goes to the black screen with the light blue windows symbol on it, but the dotted circle that indicates that the boot is in progress go

Fixing Slow Internet Connectivity After Windows Updates
location:

When I installed IE 10 on my Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64 PC, something caused all web browsers (IE, FireFox, etc.) to take a ridiculous amount of time to start-up and make the first connection to the Internet. I rolled-back the IE 10 install back to IE 9 and enjoyed normal start-up speeds for quite a while... until about 2 weeks ago. A ton of Windows Updates downloaded and installed and apparently one of them is now causing any Internet related application to take forever to start-up... just like installing IE 10 did.
I tried doing a system restore to a point prior to the Windows Updates, but that caused a bunch of issues because I had uninstalled some software after the restore point was created. Figuring I'll eventually have to get the

Windows 7 Pro 64bit is extremely slow after latest updates
location:
microsoft.com - date:
February 2, 2010
It was fine until last week and now it takes over 2 minutes to launch an application like Word 2007 or Adobe Reader. I am not sure what has changed since then (ofcourse, no hardware changes been made). Last thing I remember (untils slowbug hit the computer)
is about 15+ MSOffice 2007 related security updates that were installed. Some times even the bootup is slow too. I disconnected internet connection to eliminate auto-download/updates that are not apperant to me.
[Updated on Oct 21, 2010]
My issue was resolved few weeks later when new updates became available. Very likely one of those updates had fix for slow performance.

On 8/7, the following updates were successfully installed:

Definition Update for Windows Defender - KB915597 (Definition 1.63.1021.0)
Following this installation, the display resolution was reset to be very low. When trying to reset the resolution, I was alerted to a driver problem, so tried installing this unsuccessfully (error code below)

After that, was going to sleep the computer, but was unable to choose "sleep" (it was grayed out) but the shut down option indicated that updates were ready to install so I shut down think
