Here's how to create a Default Profile without using SysPrep

OS: Windows 7
I have been looking at how to create a default profile without using SysPrep. There is a lot of information on the web on how it could be done in XP by just using a "copy to" command, and how it is not possible under Windows 7. The officially supported method from Microsoft involves using SysPrep. Official method despite being too complex for most also has the added disadvantage that it is meant to be used when setting up an image for deploy. I needed a method that I could use on a PC during any stage of its life cycle (i.e. both pre-deploy and post-deploy times) without going through SysPrep.
There are several ways listed on the web on how to "fool" Windows into accepting any profile as Default. A sampli

How to remove Windows 7 From a Dual Boot with Windows 8?
location:
winsecrets.com - date:

How do you safely remove Windows 7 Pro (32-bit) from a dual boot with Windows 8 Pro (64-bit)? I'm quite happy with Windows 8 Pro (since I've got Start8 to give me the Start button, menus, and booting directly into the desktop).
The scenario:
Both are on the same hard drive (an SSD).
Windows 7 was on the hard drive initially. I added Windows 8 on a new partition and am ready to completely abandon Windows 7.
I have not been able to find information on how to safely remove the Windows 7 partition.
The advice I've come upon online suggests:
(1) Reformat the Windows 7 partition or delete the Windows 7 partition.
(2) Expand the Windows 8 partition to occupy the entire drive.
(3) Remove the Windows 7 choice from by going into System Co

Since there is no full version of Windows 8 only the upgrade or System Builder version; why is Microsoft punishing people that want to install it on a computer that had another OS with no support when they use to have a full version with support ?

How do I use two monitors with two video cards?
location:
7forums.com - date:
July 12, 2012
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
GPU 1: AMD Radeon 6900 series
GPU 2: AMD Radeon 7800 series
Monitors both by Asus
I'm aware you can run two monitors with a single video card. I have two unlike GPU's in my computer and I'm trying to use the second to hook up another Asus screen. I have the proper cords (I believe it's called DVI). When I hook up the monitor to the second card and enable multiple displays in control panel, both screens simply display my desktop background on both screens. I can get the mouse to move between the screens but there is nothing to click. Can someone give me a bit of help?
Thanks.

How to measure your true Internet speed
By Woody Leonhard
Curious about your Internet speed? Most Internet service providers (ISPs) offer some sort of throughput test tool on their sites — just click, and you'll get a couple of often-impressive numbers. It's in an ISP's interest to provide the best speed numbers possible; your actual throughput is probably something quite different. The full text of this column is posted at WindowsSecrets.com/top-story/how-to-measure-your-true-internet-speed/ (opens in a new window/tab).

How can I restore the windows 7 desktop with start menu?

My laptop does not have a touch screen, so is there a way to restore the look and feel of the Windows 7 desktop and get rid of the Windows 8 interface? Windows 8 may be the best thing since sliced bread on a tablet or other device with a touch interface
but it's useless on a laptop with out a touch screen.

Win8 boot guide: Your first hour with the new OS
By Woody Leonhard
Win8 is unique among Windows versions; every experienced Windows user will feel significant disorientation on that first journey into the new OS. I call it "Metro vertigo." To get you off on the right foot, here's a one-hour intro to Win8 that will get you up to speed with minimal frustration. The full text of this column is posted at WindowsSecrets.com/top-story/win8-boot-guide-your-first-hour-with-the-new-os/ (opens in a new window/tab).
