Insider Build 10532 - How is your experience with it?
location:
8forums.com - date:
August 29, 2015
I've been testing build 10532 for 2 days now.
Here's my honest opinion on it:
This build is too much stable , perfecty usable as a daily driver and main OS.
The upgrade process took a little more than an our, and was (unexpectedly) flawless.
The only bug i found is with Edge, in which an individual tab will freeze when displaying certain pages. (Such as Neowin.net).
I must say I am definately happy with this build.
What about you?

Enhancing your Windows application experience with animation
location:
8forums.com - date:

An important aspect of any application is the experience provided to its users. With so many similar applications, the user experience can be a key differentiator between your application and the myriad competitors. One approach to differentiating your experience from that of others is through the use of animations. Animations, when applied well, not only create a more immersive experience but can also result in a more usable and intuitive experience. For example, by applying subtle animation techniques to interactive user interface elements users are drawn to them naturally and are not left wondering how to negotiate with your features. In addition, user’s expectations about the application experience are increasing. Users s

How to get the most out of your machine with Windows 7...
location:
microsoft.com - date:
December 21, 2009
Greetings,
There is a lot of speculation and debate on what to do when you have lots of memory, SSDs or both.
Some say not to use a page file, some say to turn indexing off.
What I want to know is what Microsoft has to say about it?
Does anyone know if such a document exists for Windows 7 64-bit versions?
Thank you for taking the time to read,

how to proceed with "what needs your attention" screen?
location:
microsoft.com - date:
February 17, 2013
ok. i recently purchased the upgrade disc for windows 8 pro, and i am trying to install it on my computer, but every time i try to isntall it, i cannot make it pass the "what needs your attention" screen. it asks me to "change the folder or file name of
C:\Users on drive C:" and to "change the folder or file name of C:\ProgramData on drive C:" as well. for the "Users" folder, it wont let me rename it at all because it says "access is denied" and for the "ProgramData" folder, i cant see any folder with that
name at all.
what should i do to resolve this issue and continue installing windows 8 pro?

location:
8forums.com - date:
August 27, 2015
We are releasing a new Windows 10 Insider Preview building to the Fast ring today: Build 10532. As always, there are bug fixes and improvements in this build over 10525, but also some new features we are very excited to share with Insiders.
Improved Context Menus
We’ve heard feedback about the consistency of menus within Windows 10, so we’ve made some changes to improve these and give them a modern look at and feel. We are still working on it, but you’ll see some good changes with this build. We’re also further unifying the light and dark theming across the OS and are looking forward to you trying these latest changes and providing additional feedback.

An awful experience with Windows 8 "free" Media Center
location:
winsecrets.com - date:
January 6, 2013
This is intended as a warning to others who may see themselves as starting down a path similar to mine when attempting to add the limited-time offer of the "free" Media Center to Windows 8.
My advice is this: If you see the process going the way mine did, quit while you are ahead.
Before I describe all of the processes and troubles I went through, below are the initial steps ("warning signs") that happened to me and may show that you are entering the same territory:
If you go to the website that offers "For a limited time, get Windows 8 Media Center Pack for free" (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/w.../feature-packs ), then you enter your e-mail address and satisfy the Captcha, and if you DO NOT receive t

Not sure how to deal with disk partitions
location:
7forums.com - date:
March 12, 2013
I want to create a dual boot system with another OS. When I look at my partitions, I see that I have two problems: I am not able to use the Extend Volume option on my C: partition because of where it's placed on the disk. Apparently there are already 4 partitions on the disk, and I can't have another?
I'm including a screenshot of what I see in Disk Management. Most certainly I am misunderstanding something somewhere, so any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

Image your system with free Macrium
location:
7forums.com - date:

I posted this on the Vista forum. But since it works just as well on Windows7, I post it here too. Image your system with free Macrium Over the years I have experimented with different imaging programs. I started out with Norton Ghost which works very well, but is quite heavy handed. Backup and restore cycles are usually approximately one hour and it takes quite some time before you understand the intricacies of the product. I have also used Paragon and Acronis true Image. Both of those are in the same league as Ghost. They do provide though a large collection of function – which, I guess, is part of the reason why they are complex and slow. One that is easy is the Maxtor One Touch Manager that comes with the Maxtor One Touch Disks.
