Nvidia Graphics Card - Driver problem ?
location:
winsecrets.com - date:
April 11, 2013
Hi,
I hope someone can give me a shove in the right direction.
I've got a PC with an Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTC 768mb graphics card and I'm running Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 installed.
I hadn't played any games for a while, but had some spare time on Easter Monday and played Rome - Total War, which is when my problems started. Ever since then, my PC either boots to a blank black screen or a BSOD which has an error message about the nvlddmkm.sys file.
The only way that I can get the PC to boot is to either uninstall the Nvidia Graphics driver or delete the nvlddmkm.sys file from Windows ==> system32 ==> drivers.
I've tried several things, without success, as follows:
Uninstalling the graphics driver and reinstalling

BIG desktop = dual monitors = what video card supports?
location:
winsecrets.com - date:

I want to run a wide desktop screen and stretch an Excel spreadsheet across both screens, or have one browser on 1 screen and another on the other, etc.
How much to do the above?
Buying 1 card with 2 ports seems like it would be the most cost effective solution, right? Especially if I want the desktop to span both screens...How much (if any) to add TV capability? How much to add gaming?
I have only the mildest interest but it's a nice option if it doesn't cost much extra. Which I'm quite sure is NOT the case! I always feel like it might be good to try out a game - it's a technology that has passed me by (I started programming with IBM 1400 series computers in 1966, so I've seen a lot of growth in computers [and I'm old]).

PC will no longer read SD Card
location:
winsecrets.com - date:

My desktop PC (Win7 Pro, 64 bit) has 2 SD Card readers. One built in to the PC itself, the other, a slot on the side of my Dell monitor. Both of these - until last week - would read and write to my various SD cards with no problem. Cards ranging in size from 1 to 16Gb. Both readers worked fine with SDHC cards.
NOW, when I insert a card, I hear the usual "bing-bong" to signify that I've inserted a removable disk and the Windows "Safely Remove Hardware" icon becomes available. But if I double-click on the disk/drive in Explorer it tells me to insert a removeable disk into that particular letter.
I have also determined that Windows know that there's *something* in the drive, as Disk Manager shows a drive of the correct si

I have windows 8 and Dell inspiron 15r SE laptop with 7730M AMD graphic card
I had ATI radeon version 9 driver version (AMD catalyst 13.1) in my dell inspiron. I carried out a Windows Update. After Installing the updates and restarting the laptop I saw that the Ati driver version from 9 has reverted back to version 8 that comes preinstalled,
the one that is there in the dell drivers and support website. Does windows update installed that ? Now I have removed catalyst and I am downloading the latest driver from AMD website.
And i also got this message after windows update - Catalyst Control Centre: Host application has stopped working

location:

Hello I'm new with you
Use the Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit, but Aero is enabled and whenever I want to do comes to me this:
The current video card may support Aero with a driver that is compliant with the Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM). Contact the manufacturer of your computer or video card for a WDDM-compatible driver.
