My computer turns on but doesn't boot up windows 8, any solutions?

I left the computer on when I went out. I came home to find it off. After turning it back on, it doesn't start windows 8 anymore. I tried rebooting and nothing. I turned off and un/replugged everything. I even tried my Windows 8 install cd and it doesn't
even read it. Considering to buy one of those crash repair cd if I can't get this fixed. Any suggestions?

I want to unistall windows 8.1 but I found out Microsoft didn't provide a way to unistall it. Since I can't unistall it I tried to refresh my computer to windows 8. I was able to go to pc settings and found the refresh icon but when I click on it nothing

Windows 8 is showing my iPod in iTunes, but it does not show up in My Computer

I recently bought a new laptop running windows 8 and would like to transfer my music to it using my iPod (I've done this before, it's all music I bought). I actually have the music in the cloud, but I wanted to import my playlists and stuff.
When I plug my iPod in to the new laptop it makes a noise like something has been plugged in, iTunes opens and shows that I have my iPod connected, and my iPod knows that it is connected, but I can't see it in My Computer. In my old laptop, it shows up in the
F drive and has my name, where I can see all the songs and playlists I have. On my new computer I copied some work file servers over, one of which is F, which I'm guessing may have messed up how the iPod usually goes.

When I reloaded Windows 8 I reloaded windows in the British zone not the South Pacific now my computer defaults to the UK how can I change this. John Mac

At the reinstallation a page came up language English and I chose this as correct. However my computers default zone is the UK when I am in the South Pacific zone.

Last night i bought a windows 8 pro package. i tried to run a 64 bit installation but it failed. I have tried 3 times to install the 32 bit version but even after a system reset this has failed. My pc now has a blank screen and will not boot to an operating
system. I was previously using XP pro. My computer is a dell precision 380 with a 3.2 gigahertz pentium 4 processor with 4 gigabytes of RAM. Will my computer actually run windows 8 or do I have to return to XP?
