my HP laptop has windows 7 ultimate, but I do not have the disk of windows 7 ultimate, How can I create a copy of windows 7 ultimte or a bootable disk in case something goes wrong
location:
microsoft.com - date:
April 9, 2013
My notebook was just repaired from HP because it stopped working 8 months after I bought it, now I have it back, but I do not have a
disk of the windows 7 ultimate that is installed on the computer. This make me feel uneasy, but HP does not want to sell to me the disk of the installed windows 7 ultimate, and so I would like to be able to create a bootable diskette of the windows
7 ultimate, in case something else happens. HP sent me a restore set of diskette, when the problems started, but they did not work, and I have no idea if the original disk would have done any good, considering that apparently it was a BIOS problem. Can you
give me instructions about how to do it.
Thanks
Tina

Remote Desktop not listening on port 3389, Windows 7 Pro
location:
microsoft.com - date:
December 29, 2010
I cannot use the Remote Desktop service on my Windows 7 Professional machine.
When I noticed the issue I initially thought the problem was in my router, but I have double-checked the port-forwarding settings and they are correct. I have also plugged the machine into the modem directly. Doing both those steps I was still unable to
connect from outside the LAN.
I attempted to connect to the Windows 7 machine from a Windows Vista machine inside the LAN, and was unable to connect. At this point I double-checked that the Remote Desktop option was checked, and that the Terminal Service was running. When I ran netstat
-na, port 3389 is not listening.

Renaming folders causes "Item Not Found" error in Windows 7 Pro x64
location:
microsoft.com - date:
December 14, 2009
When I go to rename a folder (location does not matter) I get an "Item Not Found" error with options to "Try Again" or "Cancel". If I click "Try Again" the same error appears. However, when I click "Try Again" after that it actually proceeds with renaming
the folder. I'm not sure what's causing the error, I just installed Windows 7 one week ago.
The error box contains the following text:
Could not find this item.
This is no longer located in <PATH OF FOLDER>. Verify the item's location and try again.

vista upgrade to windows 7 pro?
location:
winsecrets.com - date:

I want to upgrade my 32 bit vista pc to 64 bit win 7. I was going to select win 7 pro, but I found a couple of statements, including on microsoft's site, that
said from 32 bit vista I have to go to win7 ultimate!
since it's a clean install, and not an upgrade, this doesn't really make sense to me...does anyone have any insight on this? is it feasible to go to win7 pro?
if there's some reason for it, then I'll do ultimate...but I wanted to save the money and go to pro.

Vista upgrade to Windows 7 Pro OA
location:
7forums.com - date:

Hi, I'm wondering if it is possible to do an upgrade of Vista to Windows 7 Pro using the Dell Recovery media without losing everything? The situation is like this. My buddy bought 2 Dell machines over time, 1 Vista (old PC) and 1 Win 7 Pro (new). He got rid of the older Vista PC and kept the HDD because the programs and settings on it are big hassle to reinstall and wants to replace the Windows 7 HDD with the Vista one (which is also a much bigger HDD) but upgrade it to Windows 7 Pro. The now unused Win 7 HDD will be the secondary data drive after formatting it (Dell recovery partitions and media are not needed on that HDD anymore, recovery media has already been created).
How can I do this? I have a retail Win 7 Ultimate for one of m

Upgrading from Windows Vista 32bit to Windows 7 64 bit w/ digital river download - do NOT have DVD drive
location:
microsoft.com - date:
October 25, 2009
Hi, I'm pretty decently experienced with IT stuff. I've bought the student discount digital download service for Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, but now I realize that I can't install it from my current OS, 32-bit Vista Professional. I've read some of the
forums and just about all of them involve burning the .iso file to a DVD and booting it from there. Unfortunately, my DVD drive broke a year ago and I've never replaced it because I've never had the need to use it. I was wondering if there is
any way at all I can do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit on my computer without a DVD?
Thank you for your time
Robert

I have a legitimate Windows 7 Premium Serial Key, but I do not have an actual copy of Windows 7. Is there any way I could somehow download Windows 7 Premium software without having to re-purchase it?
location:

Hello, I have a legitimate serial key for Windows 7 Home Premium but unfortunately I have no hard copy of the actual Windows 7 Home Premium software. Is there any place where I can simplydownload the software, burn it on a disk , then
just install it in my computer (that currently has no OS on it, only pre-formatted) and go from thereWITHOUT
having to purchase it all over again?
