Ok so, I have followed the directions for disabling the ever annoying lock screen using gpedit.msc. I actually tried it on both of my Windows 8 laptops, with the same result. Windows cannot find gpedit.msc . Is there anything else I can do?

I cannot change the lock screen in Windows 8. I do not have the Pro version so I cannot use the gpedit.msc command. I have the registry key but it will not allow me to delete or modify the (Defualt) value to other users. I have run the scan and there
are no issues. Oddly if I restart the computer the image I want appears but if I power it off and then on the defualt image remains. Any suggestions

My computer is timing out to the lock screen and requires a password to login after a certain time period.

I recently graduated college and removed the email account from my mail apps. I do not want to enter a password from a lock screen.
The lock screen is still timing out and coming on even though:
No screensaver, and the option to display lock screen upon resume is not checked.
Under power options, I have do not require a password when waking up from battery or

Your system is running low on resources. You cannot log on as a new user. Please use an account that has already been logged on.

I got this error when I tried to log on AFTER my computer did an automatic restart for updates.
There are only two accounts on my laptop.I did NOT close my laptop's lid during the restart.
I've been getting other C++ related errors and things about recovery data not being found/available. I never deleted any such items...
