I have a very difficult, for me, problem.
This is with a very old PC recently upgraded to AMD multi-core, yes TMI
Problem is even though I am logged in as Administrator when I install software it says I do not have rights. IMPOSSIBLE. I own it. I am logged in as Administrator and belong to Administrators. What can I do. I know upgrade, I cant. XPP is working perfectly
and I need this software to be installed. Please help.

I'm trying to install hp officejet printer software on my new laptop (ASPIRE 5733z-4851), but it won't let me complete the installation because it says that I don't meet one of the system requirements. When I ask for the details it states that I'm not
an administrator (but I AM - and I'm logged on as the administrator). Any ideas?

Installing a Remote Printer when not Administrator
location:

On one of my Windows 7 PC's (32Bit) I have two users set up. One is set as administrator with the same User ID and Password as my other Windows 7 PC (64Bit). The other User ID is Standard with a different User ID and Password to my other Windows 7 PC. My 64Bit PC has this printer declared as shared. I can install this shared printer when I am logged in as the first User ID (Administrator). When I am logged in as the second User ID (Standard) and try to install the same shared printer I get the request to log in with the adminstrator User ID and Password for the remote PC. I enter the User ID as remotedomain\RemoteUserID and the password. When I do this I then get the Message "The Credentials Supplied are not sufficient to access this P

How To Trick App Into Thinking You're NOT Running As Administrator?
location:
7forums.com - date:
September 29, 2011
Hello again. I have installed a program called Dragon NaturallySpeaking. it is a dictation program for microsoft office and stuff like that. It has to be installed as admin, but when just trying to run the program after install it pops a message saying "This program should not be run in Elevated mode". Is there a way to trick it into thinking i'm running as a Standard User? I would rather not create a Standard User account just to run this one app. Thanks for any help.

Administrator not allowed to turn off hibernation?
location:
7forums.com - date:
October 29, 2009
Hi,
1) When I installed Windows 7 RC one administrator account was created. That account is what I am using. But when I try to turn off hibernation by issuing powercfg -h off at the command prompt, I am told that I don't have authority to do that. If I can't do it when I am logged in as administrator, then who can?
2) Related to this, sometimes I don't have access to view all folders on my hard drive. Sometimes UAC tells me I need to enter the administrator password to gain access to the folder. When I do that I can access the folder but why should I have to when I am already logged in as Administrator?
Anyone knows why this is so?

You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact your administrator.__Windows 7, Vista, and XP networking

I've just about read every single post and blog there is on the internet about networking Microsoft's OSes.
I have a Windows 7 Desktop, a Vista Laptop, and an XP Laptop. None of them like each other.
They can all see each other, but the XP gets the You might not have permission error message. 7 (when accessing XP) gets "Windows cannot access \\(name). There might be a problem with your network." message.
I can usually access the XP desktop from my vista laptop, but I can't access vista or 7 with XP.
Yes, they are in the same workgroup.
Yes, they all have the file sharing on.
Yes, advanced file sharing is on for vista and 7.
No, the firewall is not blocking it.
I first tried to share C:, but then read that apparently you can't

Net user administrator /active not working anymore
location:
7forums.com - date:
March 24, 2011
Hello everyone
I did some searching on the forums and haven't found the problem I am having.
Before I used to be able to use the net user administrator /active:yes command and it worked fine, I could then see the "administrator" account at the login screen, and when I changed it to active:no it would then remove it at the login screen as it should.
So then I ran a whole bunch of windows updates including Sp1 and now when i run the
net user administrator /active:yes command I have no login icon. It says the command completes successfully but I can't access the account. So I tried rolling back pre SP1 and it didn't solve the issue. There could be anther update that blocked this but not sure. Anyone experience the same thing

Hi
I am the administrator for my son's laptop. Having found out he had managed to change the parental controls set, I had to pick a new password! HOwever the laptop isn't recognising this pasword, or any obviously similar ones ( which I tried in case I had
remebered incorrectly.) I didn't create a password reset desk. Can anyone help?
