Original Title:How to play games without Origin app   Recently I upgraded my pc from windows7 Home Basic to windows8 pro. I played games like NFS MOST WANTED(2012) on my windows 7 PC. But when I installed the same game in windows8 pro pc it installed correctly but when i try to launch the game it shows a message : " No apps are installed to open this type of link(Origin)". I want to know that is Origin  required to play games on windows 8 pc. Can I play the game without installing origin. I don't know much about this Origin app because the game was working fine on my Windows 7 PC. Please tell me some good methods so that i can play the game.

Black Screen in login screen Windows 8 Pro 32. GTX 550

Hi everybody. I'm kinda desperate with that problem, i hope you can help me. I installed Windows 8 Pro, everything fine, i installed some programs and the latest drivers from Nvidia, i ran windows update so i rebooted, bios screen was right and then it appeared the Windows 8 screen with the window and the circle looping and right after that while i had to be in the login screen i just get a black but stuttering screen where i only can see the mouse pointer. I restart in safe mode, uninstall the 550 Ti, then i can reboot whithout problem, Windows 8 detects the card and autoinstall the latest drivers and eveything is fine again and i'm able to play whatever i want, until i have to reboot or shutdown again. Seeing duplicate users on login screen - Windows 8

Hello,     I have upgraded my laptop from Windows 7 Professional to Windows 8 Professional. Everything seems working fine but, I am  seeing duplicate user ids in login screen. I used to have two user ids created earlier. After upgrade I am seeing 4 user ids (two for each of the original users). I have removed one of the user id that I am no longer using. Then both the ids for that user disappeared from the login screen with remaining two left.       Please help me in removing the duplicate user id, even though functionally there is no issue, but it is just annoying.   Thanks, Umamahesh

User accounts not listed in the login screen

Original Title: Administator Account When I turn on my XP it logs sraight into the buil in admin account that you should only see in safe mode. I checked user accounts and it is not listed there. I created two other admin accounts with password but they only show up if I log off the built in account.

Keyboard not working at XP login Screen

Maybe you've heard this one before? Very similar to the problems reported all over the tech forums (mostly from two or three years ago) Unfortunately, most of them never have any resolution on them I've been trying to find a solution/help from various places with no success. When my copy of Windows Secrets arrived late last night I hit myself on the head and said "That's where I should have started!" Here's the basics: I have a 7 yr old computer that I am going to replace real soon, so I just need to keep the current one limping along for right now. It was built by Voodoo PC (before they were bought by HP) and had Windows XP installed (no SP!). I have added a few disk drives, replaced one drive, added DVD writer, etc.
