Hello
I'm having a problem when i try to do LAN between my father's laptop ( Windows XP) and my laptop ( Windows 7 ).
I've plugged both of them in my router (Draytek Vigor 2100G) that is not connected to any modem. There is no connection to the internet. The only thing i want to do is a local network, to share some files and play some games .
I've done this kind of lan's sometimes before, and i've never had any problems.Just plugging the cable into the router, go to "my network places" and i was already seeing the files shared by the other computer users.
The firewalls of both laptops are turned off.
I've the current configurations in my windows 7 in a image attachment(two image).
That config seems correct, so the proble

How to resolve Unidentified Network for wired LAN connection?
location:
microsoft.com - date:
November 27, 2009
I have new Windows 7 laptop. Here is my setup:
CableModem -> NetgearGS105 5-Port Hub -> LinksysWireless 5-Port Hub -> PCs
I have an Windows XP desktop with a wired connection to the Linksys Hub that connects to the internet just fine.
The Windows 7 laptop connects via Wireless just fine. But I also want to be able use a wired connect for higher network speeds.
When I connect the laptop via a cat5 network cable to either the Netgear or Linksys Hub the network icon indicates "Unidentified Network".
I also have tried connecting the laptopi directly to the cablemodem, but same thing.
Any suggestions?

Cannot reassociate Windows 8 File History data between two computers
location:
microsoft.com - date:

Was using Windows 8 File History to backup my files from a Sony VAIO to an external hard drive. The computer crashed and was replaced by an HP Envy, but when I try to connect to the File History created by the VAIO I receive the message "Could not reassociate
with File History data". I can browse the files that are in the File History and open them, but File History will not restore them to the desired locations and remove the date stamping that has been incorporated into the filenames.

I would like to transfer my iTunes library from my User Window to another User (my husband) on my Gateway PC, which uses Window Vista. I would appreciate detailed instructions. The other user would like to sync his iphone using itunes, using his user
window, not mine. When he has tried using mine, it tries to sync my Outlook contacts and calendar instead of his.Ideas:

How do I change my Home networking connection in LAN sharing settings?
location:
7forums.com - date:
September 14, 2012
I am trying to share my wired connection from my laptop via wireless, and I accidentally set my home networking connection as Wireless Network Connection rather than Wireless Network Connection 3 (the one my new wireless runs on).
For some reason, once I selected Wireless Network Connection, Windows will not show me the drop down menu anymore for me to select connection 3, or allow me to edit the words to just add a space and a "3." Does anyone have a way to get around this?
I am using a Toshiba Satellite P845-S4200 running Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit).
