Why does my horribly slow PC sometimes pop up a Your System Is Low On Virtual Memory box?
location:
microsoft.com - date:
January 22, 2012
That box says:
Your system is low on virtual memory. Windows is increasing the size of your virtual memory paging file. During this process, memory requests for some applications may be denied. For more information, see Help.
But there isn't any Help button. The only button says OK.
I've tried to Google this and even manually look in some Help sections of things on my Windows XP Tablet PC but I didn't find anything that would help me. So I've come to this site to ask for Help.
Is this box telling me anything important that I should know? Could this possibly be related to how awful this PC acts sometimes?
I've asked a few Questions on this site in the somewhat recent past trying to find out how to make this PC operate better. I think

location:

I recently purchased an Acer Aspire One D270-1401 on the cheap, and have decided that Windows 7 Starter is pretty much utter ****. My two choices are as follows: 1) upgrade to Home Premium (I see someone selling the Anytime Upgrade for this on Amazon for
about $22), or 2) upgrade to Windows 8 Pro (I still have a $15 upgrade to that version until 2/28 courtesy of buying my wife a new laptop last fall; she doesn't want Win8). I've already upgraded my memory from 1GB to 2 in anticipation of doing so. I elected
to download Microsoft's Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant, just to make sure my little netbook didn't have any other shortcomings. Most of the stuff that it said wouldn't be compatible I could do without: sidebar gadgets, Secure Boot, Live
