How can I help speed up my sometimes-slow tablet? (need any Reply to mark as Answer!)

I have been fighting a few issues on my tablet pc with help on this site and you can see them in my questions - especially the 10 page long one about End Nows.
But that has been resolved with some awesome help from 4 of you on my Question
12 END NOWS at every Log Off or Restart and I think that I helped it a bit by maximizing my RAM to 1.5GB - the most that is availble for this Motion Computing LE1600 tablet at http://www.motioncomputing.com/support/driver_download.asp.
I even did a clean install recently with help and reinstalled all of my programs and updated all of them and my drivers and mfg software. I immediately installed and activated Security Essentials and I do very little on the internet and only go to Facebook,

How can I set-up my Windows 8 equipped laptop so it transmits Wi-Fi?
location:

I want to use my laptop as a wireless hotspot but it's connected via an ethernet cable. Is there a way I can set it to transmit a wifi signal that my PS3 and iPhone can pick up? I've tried the ways to do it with older versions of Windows but I have Windows
8 which doesn't give you the option of setting up an "Ad Hoc".

How do I speed up my music downloads?
location:

I am paying for 12 mbps DSL and I've done three separate download speed tests and they all say I am getting right at 11.50 mbps on downloads and 1.5 mbps on uploads. I use MP3 Rocket Pro for my music downloads. When I first used MP3 Rocket on my old computer a couple years back I was paying a premium for 6 mbps DSL and the music downloads were blazingly fast at almost the 6mbps I expected. Now, with this new pc build and 12 mbps DSL (doubled) I am, for some reason, limited to around 1 mbps music downloads. What is limiting this? It (music downloads) used to be six times faster. A MP3 tech said it was probably due to my I.E. settings. Could this be true or is it because of limitations they themselves have installed in (new) their site? Anywa

Toshiba laptop running XP is running very slow, how can I speed it up?
location:
microsoft.com - date:

I have an old Toshiba laptop with Windows XP, Version 2002, Service Pack3. It has Pentium R 4CPU, 2.40 ghz with 256 MB of Ram.
It is so slow that it is like watching paint dry. I have deleted all the programs I dare (the ones that I have put on)and I defrag regularly. There appear to be many many programs (particularly Toshiba ones) that are not in use but being a non-techie I
daren't delete them.
I need help to enable it to work faster - if that is possible.
Any help would be wonderful.
Thanks - Chris

Slow Start up using Win7, how can I speed it up
location:

HI,
I've been led to believe that the start up of windows 7 is much faster than other windows OS's, but I've not found it to be any quicker. It awakes from sleep faster, but if I shut it down and restart it it's no quicker, and might even be a touch slower. My wife has windows 7 at work and says it's like lightening starting up.
Is this because I upgraded to windows 7 with Dell, and if so would I be better installing it from scratch? Would I be able to do this with an upgrade CD, I pretty sure it gave me the option when installing?
I've seen on another thread to type is MSconfig and under the startup tab disable any unwanted programmes, but unfortunately I'm not that clued up on computers and so do not know what's needed and what isn'
