how can i change my location in windows 8 news app

How can I stop the Windows 8 Music app from adding music to the cloud from a drive that I have not designated as part of my library?

I have an external drive with a large amount of music on it, most of which I do not want to hear on a regular basis. Thus, I limited my music library to the "my music" section on my computer. I copy to my library the songs I want on my devices. However, when I turned on the cloud sync function in the music app, IT ADDED ALL THE SONGS FROM A FOLDER ON THE EXTERNAL DRIVE THAT IS NOT PART OF MY LIBRARY.  I read the forums a bit and realized it has something to do with that non-library folder being a indexed location. I stopped indexing that location and turned off cloud sync in the Music app, but now DRM will not let me add music pass content back to my library. IT WILL NOT EVEN LET ME MOVE IT!   I tried Rhapsody rece

How can I keep the Windows 8 mail app open when I click on a link that opens my browser? (multiple monitors)

I have dual monitors and I have been using Windows Live Mail on one screen and an internet browser on the second screen.  Windows Live Mail has recently broken itself with:   Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail account. Server Error: 3204 Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx' Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE20003   This has forced me to start using the Windows 8 mail app.  I am unable to have my Mail app and a browser up at the same time if I click a link in an email.  By clicking on the link in my email on the left screen, my mail app disappears and my browser appears on the right screen.  The only way to get back to my mail app is to Alt-tab or open

How can I login to Windows 8 without my Microsoft ID?

When I try to login to Windows 8 using my Hotmail account, it tells me "That password is incorrect."  I double-checked and I can login to my Hotmail account on other computers using that password.  Nonetheless, I changed my Hotmail password but continue to get the error message.  How can I get out of this loop?  How can I drop the Microsoft (i.e., Hotmail) ID and just use my Windows login?

How can you upgrade from Windows 8 Pro to Windows 8 Pro Pack? Or is it even possible? Pro Pack Upgrade Key doesn't work.

Microsoft has let me down this time. I had installed Windows 8 Consumer Preview to test out it out before pre-ordering the full version. My computer was running Windows 7 Home Premium and I was able to install the release preview without much trouble. After using it for a week or so, I was impressed by it and wanted to pre-order it. At this point, I think, Microsoft's website was quite misleading. It stated that anyone who is already running Windows 8 should buy Windows 8 Pro Pack instead of Windows 8 Pro. I did exactly that. Little did I know that I was actually making a big mistake. Microsoft's website didn't specify what version of Windows 8 you should already have in order to get an upgrade with the pro pack. How can I deactivate a Windows 8 installation on a virtual machine that no longer exists?

I attend a college that has some kind of partnership with Microsoft and was able to get a free copy of Windows 8 with an activation key that apparently only can be used once. I've never upgraded to another version of Windows before and figured I'd try running it on a virtual machine first to test it out. It worked but it was pretty laggy so I deleted the virtual machine without trying to deactivate Windows 8 first.

How can I stop the Windows 8 magnifier from switching to fullscreen mode? How can I stop it from blocking the task switcher?

On Windows 8 I use the magnifier in docked mode at the top of the screen. Any time I use a modern UI app or the start menu it switches to fullscreen. This is very frustrating! Modern UI apps and the start view are difficult to use when I can only see a portion of the screen (this is especially a problem since most Modern UI apps are filled with wasted space containing no information).
