Hello i got my new Toshiba laptop yesterday with Windows 7.
Whenever i try to download anything, i get to the 'install' phase, if i click on 'install' nothing at all happens. There is small blue and yellow shield icon that appears to be disabling my ability to press 'install'.
Just to clarify i have not altered any settings, and i am using the free McAffee trial that the laptop came with.

Blue and Yellow shield next to "delete" and "rename" in file manager on external hard drives
location:
microsoft.com - date:
November 18, 2012
When I go into file manager and right click on a file or folder there is a Blue and Yellow shield next to both delete and rename. This means that if I delete a file it does not give me the confirm delete dialog box and just permanently deletes the file. This
happens on a 2TB and a 1TB external drive, but not on my internal 1TB drive or another external 1TB drive.
I have setup al the correct options from within recycle bin and deleted the recycle folders on the drives, but nothing will bring up the delete confirmation box.
Anyone have any answer out there?

original title: Windows Update acts confused--kb955759 does not appear when i check for updates manually, but appears with the yellow shield after turning on automatic updates.
I've just reset my CMOS settings, written zeroes to my hard-drive, repartitioned, reformatted, and used the Gateway System Recovery cd to get my computer back to Windows 98se--factory settings, except that at the beginning of system recovery, when it said
"for advanced options, press any key", I pressed a key, then I unchecked all of the default (3rd party) applications, including Norton, and only left 2 checked: "USB Hub Update", and "Windows Shutdown Supplement", so that nothing was installed, leaving only
win98.
Then I used my XP Home upgrade disk

Please help...Blue Screen of Death
location:

I'm hoping someone can help point me in the right direction. I have a 4.5 year old Dell running Windows Vista and recently encountered a malware/virus attack. I ended up restoring the system to it's original form. Now I'm getting a couple of blue screens of death that I never used to get before. I found the BlueScreenView tool which has all this great information, but I don't know what to do with it or how to interpret it (computer savvy I'm not). I've attached the dump file. I went into Device Manager and updated the drivers. Since I restored this PC there really is nothing on it. I've got a financial software package, and it's connected to a Brother MFC-J630W printer. I did install Comodo Firewall and AVG Antivirus to help prevent the mal
