hi, i was looking for a dump/minidump but didn't seem like this crash produced one.. so i found this instead in the event viewer:
Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.
also had this as well: event id 3 kernel-event tracing
Session "Microsoft Security Client OOBE" stopped due to the following error: 0xC000000D
could someone tell me what to do with these? I had a black screen for the first crash and then a stri

(Edited by HansV to make URL clickable - see <!help=19>Help 19<!/help>)
I'm seeing two errors in the event log with ID 1041. The problem seems to have started about the same time as a virus infection. Avast caught the virus and scans with various products have said my computer is clean.
The log entries say:
Windows cannot query DllName registry entry for {CF7639F3-ABA2-41DB-97F2-81E2C5DBFC5D} and it will not be loaded. This is most likely caused by a faulty registration.
Windows cannot query DllName registry entry for {7B849a69-220F-451E-B3FE-2CB811AF94AE} and it will not be loaded. This is most likely caused by a faulty registration.
I read the technet entry for this event ID and it's related to DHCP Interface Configuration

Here's a little detective work for ya! This happens every few days during what appears to be almost idle time and happened again this morning while I'm sitting here reading posts in The Lounge. I hear a little "chirping" sound, but nothing shows up onscreen. It sounds like my USB scanner is "cycling" like it would if I were booting the machine, but I'm not booting and in fact haven't done anything but read the posts I have on the screen. I went to Event Viewer and found it in the SYSTEM branch, so I sorted on the event and you can see in the attachment that it happens every few days and there always seem to be TWO entries exactly alike.
When I follow the Microsoft link, I find advice that says I should run CHKDSK to

good day
my windows 7 x64 laptop is logging over 1300 event id 7036 on boot in a span of less than 30 seconds. It encompasses many different services all starting and stopping very rapidly. there used to be less than 100 of these after using the system for a whole day. the computer browser service seems the most frequent, and I have seen it start and stop 24 times in 1 second according to the logs. there are no errors in the logs.
has anyone experienced this? any idea what has caused this?
thanks in advance

Hi, I was getting Event ID 1058 - Group Policy processing aborted errors on clients in my child domain. I enabled the Distributed Transaction Coordinator service from disabled to Automatic and the policies are now being applied succefully.
My question is: why would the MSDTC service be required to apply teh GPOs? The PCs having teh issue were at remot sites.
Thanks,
Dave

Over the past two weeks, my system has crashed several times. It seemed that the problem was a newly installed third-party, but after installing an update to C++, it seemed the problem was fixed.
However, my system crashed again today, and I found the following error, which I had seen before, too. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
