Errors 800B0100 and 8024200D installing updates; KB947821 installed
location:

Lately I've been getting these errors trying to install updates. The "automatic troubleshooter" just seems to reset the updates database to null and give me a green light. The updates still won't install. I searched around and found KB947821, downloaded Windows6.1-KB947821-v25-x64.msu, and ran it. It ran successfully but it doesn't help. I also turned off my security suite (Norton) but that doesn't help either. I did more searching around but I'm getting nowhere with this problem. Thank you for any assistance.

Dear experts and pros,
since a couple of months I am having trouble with windows update. After not using my desktop for quite a while (probably in the period of June till September or October 2013). I switched on again and wanted to do all the updates that had accumulated. After a series of failed installs I went through and downloaded each KB directly installing soe of them manually.
However some of them turned out to be extremely stubborn. The following do not work neither as automatic or manual win updates nor separately downloaded and installed:
KB2876284
KB2868038
KB2864202
KB2862335
KB2861698
KB2861191
KB2852386
KB2836942
And one of them actually killing my system !?!
KB2872339
This last one does not install via win

when installing updates (KB2769369) & (KB976932) get Code 800B0100
location:

I bought a used laptop with what appears to be a clean windows 7 install. When I attempt to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (KB976932) and Security Update for Windows 7 (KB2769369) I get error 800B0100. I have tried one or the other manual and auto. I ran the update readiness tool multiple times, the update troubleshooter, and ran a sfc scan. This is getting really frustrating, also not sure if related but my display driver is crashing regularly one time resulting in bluescreen error.

Hi All,
Like the poster in this thread I'm getting errors everytime I try and install a windows update. It goes as far as the configuring updates startup screen but then fails on 15 %.
Some of the errors I get are error 80071a90 and error 630. I've tried running the microsoft fix it tool, restoring the .net framework to factory settings and updateing etc but all to no avail.
I'm not sure it makes a difference but Windows is running on Virtualbox running on OSX Mountain Lion on my macbook air.
I've also ran the MDAG tool and this is a copy of the report: Code:

Windows 8 Pro - Hangs When Installing Updates or Adding Features
location:
microsoft.com - date:

I recently upgraded Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 8 Pro.
Each time Windows Update runs, it installs the updates, and then when it restarts, it locks up on:
"Preparing to Configure Windows"
You then have to hard-reset the laptop, and it will then restart. Sometimes it boots normally, and sometimes it says that you have had issues and need to start in Safe Mode etc.
If you then check Event Viewer, it shows that the updates have installed ok.
I have since found I get the same issues when trying to install additional Windows Features. I have attempted to install Media Center and Hyper-V. Media Center stuck at "Preparing to Configure Features", but did show as installed after a hard reset. Hyper-V
