After upgrading my Asus x401A Laptop to windows 8, my multi-touch pad only works for singleleft and right click gestures. This has taken away quite a few features of the whole windows 8 experience for me. Is there a driver fix for this on its way out?

Touch gestures not working in .exe application
location:

Hi all,
I have an Acer Iconia W510. The touch gestures are fine when I want to move folders or open things by double clicking. I have my own application that has a few buttons and a map which you can pan around. When I start it up, there are no touch gestures possible. I can click the buttons with my mouse and there is a response, this is also the case with panning around my click and holding the mouse. I just want to exactly copy the movements of the mouse with my finger gestures. Does anyone have an idea how to do this?

How do I disable touch when using wacom?
location:

I have a windows 8 tablet which has a screen which supports BOTH multitouch touch interface AND wacom style tablet interface with wacom stylus.
I would prefer to use the touch interface for normal navigation etc. etc., but when I get ready to take notes in OneNote, I would prefer to pull out the wacom stylus and takes notes in my handwriting using the stylus.
The PROBLEM: Because it has both touch and stylus, I cannot comfortably use the stylus because my wrist or hand will touch the screen and disrupt the process.
The SOLUTION: In an ideal world, I would like for touch interface to be automatically disabled whenever the wacom pen is brought into proximity with the screen. An acceptable al

Windows 10 will include new touch gestures

Microsoft will include new gestures for controlling Windows 10 for owners of laptops that have precision touchpads. It will also offer some new actions for gestures made on touchscreens.
In a session at today's WinHEC conference titled, "Designing Great Hardware for the Windows 10 UI" Microsoft showed slides that illustrated the gestures that will be enabled for precision touchpads. Microsoft also stated that the cost for including such touchpads, which were first supported by Windows 8.1, have been "significantly reduced" since they were first launched. Hopefully, that means we will see more of them installed in new Windows 10 laptops.

Disable touch pad after installing Windows 10
location:
8forums.com - date:

I have a Synaptics touch pad on my HP Envy laptop. Prior to upgrading to Windows 10 if I went to mouse in the control panel there was a checkbox to check to disable the touch pad if a external mouse was detected. This worked fine. Now under Windows 10 I can still check the box to disable the touch pad but the setting does not stick and has to be rechecked after every reboot. Is there a way to get this setting to stick? There is no disable setting in the device manager for the Synaptics touch pad.
