Deleting Fonts (XP/SP2)
location:
winsecrets.com - date:
April 2, 2008
I recently added a few fonts to my folder and now the computer is acting a bit unpredictable.
This jogged my memory about a warning a while back about downloading too many fonts making the system unstable.
Is this still true? Will dumping the fonts I am unlikely to use improve things? If so, how do I do this? (Apparently, it's never occurred to anyone at the MS Knowledgebase that one might want to remove fonts. There is exactly no information there.)
Thanks.
Neal

I am trying to set up our new computer running the Windows 7 Ultimate operating system. The manufacturer's (Hewlett-Packard) technical service personnel referred me to you because my questions relate to Microsoft-only subjects. I do not want to set up
an "XP Virtual Computer System"; instead I just want to understand and hopefully control the features -- listed below -- in Windows 7. Thank you for your kind consideration of my questions:
# 1) The "Standard Buttons" toolbar from Windows XP -- the toolbar with icons like the red "X" for deleting -- is nowhere to be found. How do I set up the "Standard Buttons" toolbar in Windows 7? Thank you.
# 2) How do I remove the file folder

I don't know if my Windows 8 is having some issues with fonts but.. some things just don't look right compared to Windows 7. I read up some research on the AA from Windows 8 fonts and everything should be fixed but.. things don't look so hot on mine. Here are some screenshots. Can someone help me? Deleting an Administrator user account
location:
winsecrets.com - date:
June 18, 2011
Initially my home-office computer just booted up to my desktop. I am the sole user of this computer and its administrator. About a year ago I was having some problems and ATT support, in helping me solve them, created an Administrator User Account (in addition to my regular User account (Keith). When I restart my computer now I have to chose between Keith (the only account I use) and "Administrator". I would like to get rid of "Adminstrator" User user showing up, so I just boot up to a desktop. (I don't use a password to get into this home computer.
But the User "Administrator" does not show up under Control Panel--User Accounts (only Keith shows up there). So I can't delete the account in the usual way. &quo

Moving fonts from OS X to Windows 8

I am trying to transfer fonts in TTF format from Macs in the office to my Windows 8 machine. When I view the TTF files in Windows, they show up as being 0 kb and double-clicking them calls up an error that says "(whatever).ttf is not a valid font file."
The folder containing the fonts has the same apparent size as it does on a Mac. Only the files themselves say 0 kb. The fonts all install from the same files without a hitch on a friend's MacBook.

Windows 8 Fonts Have Spontaneously Changed
location:
8forums.com - date:
March 17, 2013
Hello,
First-time poster. I've had a Dell XPS One 27 for about two months now. The fonts in a couple of specific places have changed. They've changed from the standard Windows font to a different font (I don't know what it's called.) I noticed it first in Yahoo Mail in the browser. The font is changed in both Chrome and Explorer. So, I figured it was a problem with my Yahoo account settings or my browser(s) settings. I checked all of that out and nothing had changed. Then, today, I noticed that my McAfee Security Center app had also changed fonts to display the same fonts as Yahoo Mail. Here's a picture of what the fonts look like on Yahoo Mail and McAfee.
Now, I'm stumped. I don't know how the fonts changed. I c

Deleting Objects from ISP Server
location:

Hi,
Im using FP2000 and have my web objects on my ISP's server. No problem in getting new or updated objects there, but how do I delete an out-of-date or unwanted object from the server? Probably something obvious I'm missing here, but I've checked the FP documentation and can't seem to find anything on the subject. Thanks for any help or info.

fonts change - unreadable
location:
7forums.com - date:
February 9, 2013
Hello!
I've been experiencing some weird behaviour of fonts: when I download a file with some diacritics in its name, the characters change into totally unreadable ones. I started a few months ago, I think. I tried to google it, but either I cannot ask the question properly, or the problem is rare.
An example: możliwości -> możliwości.
I also had a problem with utf-8 in text files' content, also with diacritics - the files seemed not to see them, even if the file was saved as utf-8. Not sure, it might be related somehow
Does anyone have any idea? Thanks in advance.
Asia Floyd

Deleting Event In Calendar App
location:

Trying to delete an event is not very intuitive. Finally found out with trial and error.
1. Double-click (left button) on the event.
2. In upper right hand corner, right-click on the X and Delete option will appear in lower right of screen.
3. Click delete and click delete again.
